Not that I didn't know what was going on when we were shuffling through treatment after treatment and witnessing which had the propensity to heal our son from the symptoms we called autism and PANDAS. But now that I am reading through research and looking back at the very vivid image of what was, I can see it so clearly now!

Our son, who is now 13 and recovered from both autism and PANDAS (well, PANDAS is more of a remission sort of thing) began life a bit rocky. After 13 hard hours of labor, he was viciously sucked into the world and out of my womb with two attempts of each, the vacuum and forceps. It was so vicious in fact, that he was left with a severely misshapen head for more than a few days. We were so excited to meet this little dude that we didn't blink and eye, we were just glad he was with us and had ten fingers and ten toes. Although now, I think I might have gladly given one of those fingers or toes (or my own) to have avoided what was to follow.

Our experience is likely not much different from many others in the same boat. Our son went on to struggle with so many symptoms and deficiencies that it would save time to just run a bulleted list to give you an idea of what our flavor autism looked like:

Significant sleep disturbance lasting well over six months and involved me having to go to sleep when he did at 7pm, just so I could enjoy the first 4 hours of sleep each night, because the rest of the night was riddled with waking/crying episodes every 45 minutes all. night. long. for at least 6 months and quite honestly, even when we got his sleep figured out, he still often woke at least 5 times a night, but at least went back to sleep more easily.

Colic, which I now know was due to the formula he was being fed. Formula is a dairy product and is filled with corn syrup solids, which feed bad bacteria.

Chronic ear infections, of course resulting in prescribed antibiotics that harm the beneficial gut flora. The chosen antibiotics in his case, I also discovered, encourage the overgrowth of insidious pathogenic microbes in the clostridia family (more about this later).

Chronic rhinitis was evident from birth until we removed dairy years later.

Loose stools which lasted most of his early life.

Regression after vaccinations and with illnesses, eventually leading to a sliding backwards that no longer recovered on it's own.

Sensory integration disorder even from very early on like hating dirty hands to the point of severe tantruming and sensory defensiveness resulting in him hating cuddles or hugs, he pushed away from us from BIRTH, no joke. I have a picture of him pushing hard against his father, while we were still in the hospital. He arched his back away from me during nursing which was a culmination of sensory and dietarily related issues.

Auditory functioning disorder, which was part of the sensory disfunction, caused him to say "What?" frequently. It would appear like he didn't hear us, but it was more about surrounding sounds that caused confusion in what he was hearing. We had his ears tested and they were fine, although nutritional deficiencies did cause a lot of ear wax to chronically accumulate in his ears.

Sound sensitivities causing him to scream while squeezing his ears hard or to react physically. One time he punched me in the face for flushing a very loud public toilet when I was crouched down at his level to help him. Another time he literally scaled his father's 6 foot tall body to get away from a nearing motorcycle outside. Fear of sudden loud sounds would set off a cascade of high cortisol responses to everything following the event.

Frequent rocking while sucking his fingers hard enough to cause bleeding.

Severe startle reflex requiring swaddling until swaddles no longer even fit him. I had to cut the bottom of them open so that he could still have his arms swaddled for sleep.

Hand flapping when he was excited and/or upset, and this was one of the first things to resolve when we began treatments.

Incessant lining up of cars which is inappropriate play. He would freak out if anyone interrupted his rows. He would put rows of cars all over our couches and floors and we couldn't touch them for fear of an extreme tantrum. This also resolved very early on with treatment. It did return briefly through a healing crisis with homeopathy, which we found very interesting.

Overstimulation couldn't be self regulated. Even from infancy, if he was overstimulated by bright or busy toys, he would become physically agitated and hyper, then he couldn't fall asleep for a nap or at night, and the sleep problem would snowball creating more sleep loss in the days that followed.

Transitions were extremely difficult for him to navigate.

When his hair was wet, even having just taken a bath, he had a wet dog smell, indicating an overgrowth of fungus.

He had a variety of body, vocal and facial tics that shifted and changed from time to time.

Hypoglycemia

Self-limiting to foods containing gluten and casein due to the opioid-mimicry of the proteins.

Severe debilitating OCD which interfered with his sleep, eating, brushing his teeth and playing.

Daily aggression and defiance.

Extreme mitochondrial fatigue - we thought he was just a chill kid and liked his stroller during busy events and long walks. We didn't experience the toddler-walking struggles most parents go through at age two when their kids want to walk all by themselves everywhere, but by five years old, when he was STILL demanding to sit in a stroller and carriages instead of walking (resulting in wild tantrums) we knew something wasn't right. One time, when I tried to force him to keep walking beside me in a grocery store after having JUST arrived, he laid on the ground and cried, because he physically couldn't go any further.

Wild tantrums with a hair-pin trigger. It didn't take much to set him off. 0-60! These tantrums were paired with his low threshold for frustration. There was no ability to cope with stress of any kind.

He had an unnatural fear of bugs, birds and dogs, more of a phobia.

Significantly bloated belly (See picture below) which started from when he was a baby. I recall family members talking about his "cute Buddha belly" well beyond chubby baby days. He looked malnourished with thin, low muscle limbs and bloating.

Low muscle tone.

Slow growth, so slow that there were periods when he didn't grow for over a year! And this is after having been in the 95% as an infant.

Now fast forward to the year 2019, I can often be found indulging in reading studies, literature and books about microbiota. Not only do I believe that the condition of Grayson's microbiome was terrible from birth, but I believe that is the sole reason for his diagnosis of autism, and may even be the reason he reacted so severely to his vaccinations at 12 months old. I know, these are some strong words, but our experience coupled with the evidence being highlighted in recent studies makes a strong case.

The cause of a poor microbiome is quite varied, but factors include: diet (mine while pregnant and while nursing), antibiotics (of which he had SIX courses of in his first year of life), chemicals and toxins, chlorinated tap water, plasticizers (we used plastic baby bottles for his warm GMO formula), glyphosate, lawn chemicals....and so on and so on.

So let's get a little more technical about this. His gut bacteria were out of balance, probably from birth, then we used six courses of cephalosporins for chronic ear infections starting at just 3 months old. Research has found that Celphalosporins trigger an overgrowth of pathogenic Clostridium species bacteria.

Countless studies have also confirmed a connection between elevated Clostridium and autism.

I believe it, because when Grayson was four, a stool test revealed elevated Clostridium and no growth of the beneficial Lactobacillus species, exactly as described by the studies I've seen.

Digging further into his history, when he was three, an Organic Acid Test revealed Clostridia markers three times higher than the top of the normal range, along with excess yeast overgrowth markers! Some were almost four times higher than the top of the normal range. We were on to something, but at the time, we didn't know how to navigate the challenge of eradicating this nasty bacteria.

HPHPA is the marker for Clostridia.

So what is it about Clostridia that creates the perfect storm in our kids? According to David Perlutter, MD, the Clostridial species produce propionic acid (PPA) in abundance, which isn't a good thing, especially if it passes into the bloodstream, as in the case of a child with leaky gut syndrome. This is especially concerning during a time when their brains are still developing. Simply put, PPA produced by Clostridia is toxic to the brain and it increases gut permeability. Other influences PPA has on the body are that it effects cell-to-cell signaling which cripples the way one cell can communicate with the next, it leads directly to compromised mitochondrial function altering the brain's ability to use energy (note above where one of Grayson's symptoms was severe debilitating physical fatigue), it increases oxidative stress harming proteins, cell membranes, vital fats and even DNA and it depletes the brain of various molecule such as antioxidants, neurotransmitters and omega-3 fats (mood stability issues anyone?).

In "Brain Maker", Dr. Perlmutter goes on to describe a few studies that demonstrate the connection between autism and propionic acid. Let me just say right here though, I KNOW without a fraction of doubt, that Clostridia was, in fact, Grayson's autism. I know this because of the direct correlation between his symptoms when he had it (seen on the testing posted above) and the resolution of symptoms once we used high doses of probiotics to combat the Clostrida, which resulted in a much improved test! See the results below! Normal range HPHPA (and candida). One month of high dosed probiotics did this. We had tried to control the overgrowth for three years, using antibiotics like flagyl at the direction of a well-meaning but misinformed biomedical doctor and high doses of natural anti-microbials (every kind you can think of along with multiple combinations). It wasn't until we stopped them all and just kept increasing his probiotics that we suddenly saw glimpses who our little boy was. It's essential to have a soil based strain in them to see these results, because we had tried numerous other high dose probiotics to no avail, previously.

So as I was saying, studies that confirm this...

In one study, they fed pregnant rats and their offspring diets high in propionic acid. By the time the pups were four to seven weeks old, their brains showed developmental changes similar to those seen in children with autism. When Derrick MacFabe's research team from Western Ontario University injected PPA into animals, they exhibited symptoms commonly associated with autism almost immediately. The rats developed repetitive behaviors, and hyperactivity, and were seen turning in circles, moving backward, and losing their desire to socialize with other animals. They demonstrated increased anxiety and would "fixate on objects versus other animals"; they even had "favorite" objects. Incredibly, these effects happened within two minutes of administration of the PPA and lasted about 30 minutes, at which point the animals would revert to normal behavior. MacFabe's group also demonstrated increased inflammation in various cells in the brains of these animals. He believes autism to be an "acquired disorder involving altered PPA metabolism."

Another study connected woman who get the flu during pregnancy (and in my opinion, the flu vaccination) with the risk of delivering a baby with autism, but wait for it....this also involves a molecule like propionic acid! Pregnant mice were injected with a mock virus which resulted in offspring that displayed classic signs of autism and leaky gut syndrome. When their blood was analyzed, the "autistic" mice contained a staggering 46 times more of a molecule like PPA, produced by gut bacteria and known to induce symptoms of autism when it's allowed to seep from the intestines into the blood. What was even more staggering is that by lacing the animal's food with a probiotic that has been shown to treat GI problems in mice, five weeks later, the leaky gut in the "autistic" mice had sealed up and their levels of the offending molecule in their blood had plummeted! Their behavior also changed, showing fewer symptoms of autism, they became less anxious and more social, and they stopped the repetitive behavior.

Another very interesting fact to make note of here, is that undigested gluten is fermented by intestinal bacteria to produce propionic acid in the gut!! Gluten is one of the very few things that still has the potential to regress Grayson and now I fully understand the connection! Gluten also creates leaky gut and creates an opioid effect, plus it's a carbohydrate which feeds bad bacteria. It is absolutely essential, in my opinion, to avoid gluten in any chronic health condition. Propionic acid and calcium propionate is also an FDA food preservative often found in wheat, bread, cheese, juices, as well as dried fruit.

It's clear that the interesting link between Clostridia and gluten, propionic acid, is to blame in our case. What I found so fascinating about MacFabe's study above, is that Grayson used to carry around a favorite object of choice each day. He wouldn't put it down for ANYTHING, we couldn't take it from him without inducing a tantrum and he wouldn't even play with it, he just had to hold it all day. He even took these objects into the bath and to bed with him! I've never seen mention of this strange behavior before reading his study.

To give you an idea of how severely infected Grayson was with Clostridia, here is a before picture and a few after pictures of him. The change we experienced by switching him from gut-altering anti-microbials to just high doses of probiotics is quite evident, don't you think?

Now granted, probiotics isn't ALL we did, in fact, I am writing a book, because the other things we've incorporated into our healthy lifestyle are too many to list in a simple blog entry, but the obvious turning point in his recovery was specifically associated with eliminating Clostridia and the one and only thing we did differently at that particular stage in his recovery was eliminate the anti-microbials and introduce probiotics in high doses! Please know that we were already eating incredibly healthy with no refined sugars or preservatives in our diets so the combination of the probiotics and the healthy organic diet which aids to feed the good bacteria was essential. We also worked on our home environment extensively to reduce toxins around us and we decided to home school our boys so that we would have complete control over their exposures during this critical time in their development.

I'll save the PANDAS piece for another blog entry, but put simply, that was mold related and there is an entire story behind that journey, which traveled parallel to this one, at times. There was definitely some overlap, but as in this situation where I can say definitively when things shifted, the same goes for PANDAS and mold. So stay tuned!

Unfortunately, we aren't always open to the acceptance of this reality. For that reason, we create patterns of protection and we cling to them from our subconscious. Do you find yourself repeating certain patterns, same story, just a different day? Have you ever asked yourself why, and I don't mean, "Why me"...I mean a deep soul-searching why, with intent to divulge (and accept) the truth that surfaces?

Our patterns have a perfectly designed purpose. Some patterns protect our hearts, some boost a deflated ego and many are born out of sheer necessity. They were most likely essential to survival on some level, but when do they begin to cross the boundaries of destruction? Are we capable of seeing our own destructive patterns? I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest that if something has become a protective pattern, it's most likely cloaked like a wolf in sheep's clothing. I'm not suggesting that all patterns are destructive or protective. We can, after all, partake in healthy patterns too, but I would guess that they were conscious decisions that required self-reflection.

There is a reason most change comes arm and arm with pain. Changing patterns of protection means lifting that protective veil and consciously exposing your vulnerabilities. This is just plain uncomfortable, isn't it?! Therein lies the reason for the pattern. We don't WANT to be uncomfortable. Resistance is a common response to discomfort. In fact, we all go out of our way daily to avoid discomfort so it's no surprise that we would protect ourselves with the comfort of familiar habits. Resistance to change stems from discomfort, but ironically, this pattern has the potential to prolong and magnify the associated discomfort in the long run.

If there is one thing autism taught me (there are many actually), it's that there is no room for complacency. Complacency doesn't change anything.

"Change the way you look at things and the things you look at change." -Wayne Dyer

We have to be willing to sit in our emotions surrounding vulnerability and to let them hang around a little bit, if we want to understand them. Our vulnerabilities are a gauge and covering them up only removes them from sight. It's natural to want to push discomfort away, to remove it from awareness, but if we are willing to recognize that pain is the result of attachment, we can begin to not only dissolve the pain, but to transcend the pattern!

Attachment is a funny thing. Being attached to an outcome means we are projecting into the future. The future is, and always will be an unknown yet we actively and regularly engage in a pattern of trying to control it. If we are to be successful at practicing mindfulness, we must remain present. How can we be in both places at once? We can't! To choose presence requires acceptance of where we are today. The good news is that by living your truth today, your future will organically unfold according to your purpose.

My own personal experiences with the growing pains of change have always resulted in the most remarkable shifts in awareness, eye-opening, life-changing acceptance. The best version of me emerges after a period of deep self reflection. If you want something in life to change, be willing to open the doors to your heart, regardless of how uncomfortable it might be.

The act of creating or even replacing habits from a conscious (and often vulnerable) state of mind has the incredible outcome of spiritual alignment within yourself.

What does that mean exactly? To be grounded? My kids would say that it means they can't go outside to play with their friends so I suppose it depends on who you ask. To me, being grounded definitely involves my interaction with others, but in my case (unlike when my children are grounded) I actually WANT to be grounded!

You've heard others say it, I'm sure, "stay grounded" or "I'm not grounded right now". It can be an off-the-cuff sort of statement for some people, but for others, it holds deep conscious meaning in their lives. Most of the time, we don't even realize how powerful this cliche can be in reality, when applied effectively to our lives.

Being grounded can take on many shapes, but in general remaining grounded really is exactly what it sounds like. Imagine a tree, rooted in the soil. The wind can't blow it over uprooting it, those roots run deep and they are the tree's lifeline. Without the roots, a tree wouldn't receive it's nutrition and strength. Without staying firmly grounded in the soil, the tree wouldn't survive or grow and regenerate.

When we are successfully grounded, we are present in our daily lives, we are firmly rooted in the here and now. No matter what is going on, we stay balanced, centered and aligned with our higher purpose and best interest. It means we are able to control our reactive, knee-jerk, behavioral patterns which are driven by our ego. When we stay present, we don't allow ourselves to be swept up in thoughts or emotions about the past or the future, we can't be uprooted by the wind or stomped out. Being present enables us to take on life's unexpected challenges with grace, because our roots hold us firmly in place. Today is the only day that matters, right here, right now. The past is gone and the future hasn't unfolded yet. If we are swept up in our emotions about the past or the future, we lose our footing and we stumble, losing ground on what matters most.

Emotions are important and I am not suggesting we shouldn't honor every emotion we experience, because each emotion has a distinct purpose in our lives, but experiencing a strong emotion doesn't have to uproot us sending us into a tailspin either. Instead we can observe the emotion as a passing experience, because that is exactly what it is. Emotions come and go, and then new ones also come and go. If we allowed ourselves to be influenced by every emotional whim that surfaces, we would be like the wind, with no roots to keep us firmly planted in the soil. When something emotional comes up for me, I like to try to imagine that emotion sitting next to me on the couch. It's there, but it's not me. I see it, I feel it's presence, but I don't have to succumb to it's power, because I hold the power to choose my actions. It passes and then I have choices to make about what triggered the uprising of the emotion in the first place, which was likely rooted somewhere in a past experience or a fear about the future.

I thought this was a great example, blogged by Sabrina Reber in "How to Raise your Vibration"

For example, if someone in the grocery store accidentally bumps into your cart and you are grounded and aligned with your higher wisdom you will simply look at the person smile and move on. However, if you are ungrounded....you may be thinking about something in the past that upset you, and when the person bumps into your cart you may fly off the handle and yell at them telling them they should pay more attention......not only did you have a knee jerk reaction but you also projected your energy of “not paying attention” onto the other person when you weren't paying attention to what was going on in the present moment either.

Consciously grounding yourself is an act of mindfulness, with the ability to impact you on a much larger scale, long-term. Mindfulness itself tends to be more task-oriented, like the grocery cart example above. On the larger scale, we can see how remaining grounded can improve our overall life immensely. The bigger picture begins to form as we shift our habits from ego-driven behavioral patterns to conscious awareness of our current situation and surroundings. But how do we make that shift is the real question. For me, it took a number of years to first recognize my need to focus on being present more, but that was only the beginning. Awareness is good, but action is the only way to truly exhibit presence in your daily life. It takes action! When an event sets you off, you can try to remind yourself to stay calm in the moment, but that might be asking a bit much of yourself since the pattern has already been set off by that point. As with anything else in life, practice is essential. We must water the seeds we want to grow. For me, I had to actively pursue grounding work in the way of meditation, introspection, reading and paying more attention to how my thoughts effect my life (and the lives of those around me). I often had to step out of my comfort zone to see the benefits. The ultimate lessons in my life, however, always evolved through my experiences with my children. I began to recognize that if I viewed everything through a lens touched by my children, I would see things completely differently. How would I want my children to handle themselves in this same situation, what advice would I give them? Bingo, my answer was suddenly clear as day. How's that for perspective? It was then that I began to also recognize how much control I had over my own perspective of each situation. I could choose the view and I could influence the outcome, just like that.

In Sabrina Reber's blog, which I referred to above, she shares some grounding advice which is quite simple, so I will share that with you too. I have always used a very similar exercise (linked in #1 below). In addition to using it daily through some periods of my life, I also use it whenever I feel out of touch with my purpose or just plain out of control emotionally.

<span style="color: #222222; font-family: "lucida grande"; letter-spacing: 0px;">Do this grounding exercise when you get up in the morning, before and after you have meditated or done any type of spiritual/healing work and always before you head out of the house into a public space. Click here for: GROUNDING EXERCISE

<span style="color: #222222; font-family: "lucida grande"; letter-spacing: 0px;">Throughout the day, bring your consciousness....your awareness into your body. Become aware of where you are and what you are doing.....become aware of the smells, sounds and temperature.

<span style="color: #222222; font-family: "lucida grande"; letter-spacing: 0px;">Become aware of your thoughts.....if you are in heavy mind chatter you are in the past or future. Bring your thoughts into the present and state whatever you are doing. “Right now I am washing the dishes.” Right now I am cooking dinner”. “Right now I am present.”

<span style="color: #222222; font-family: "lucida grande"; letter-spacing: 0px;">If you are ungrounded, focus your energy on your feet. Bring all of your consciousness to your feet....wiggle your toes, feel your connection to the Earth. <span style="color: #222222; font-family: "lucida grande"; letter-spacing: 0px;">(added by Jessica - I would even go as far as to envision your feet growing roots into the ground here, breath deeply as the roots dig deeper, works wonders for me!)

<span style="color: #222222; font-family: "lucida grande"; letter-spacing: 0px;">Command yourself to ground. “ I command for my energy fields to align and be brought back into balance and for me to ground fully into the present moment.

<span style="color: #222222; font-family: "lucida grande"; letter-spacing: 0px;">If you are going to an appointment, an event, a meeting etc....where you feel you could get upset and ungrounded ask for help. Pray to Creator Of All That Is for what you would like to experience and ask your "I Am" Presence to help you stay calm, grounded and aligned with your higher wisdom.

<span style="color: #222222; font-family: "lucida grande"; letter-spacing: 0px;">Be aware. Be alert. Be conscious. Be present. Be here, NOW.

As with anything else that takes practice, be gentle with yourself and trust that you will seek grounding more naturally over time once your awareness has developed. With practice, grounding yourself when you need it most will become second nature.

Namaste!
What do we want for our kids most, above all things? We just want them to "be happy". So we jump through hoops to make our children happy, hopefully teaching them how to find happiness in their own lives. But what IS happiness exactly?

Joy is often a word used interchangeably with happiness. No surprise there, right? What is the difference anyway? Most of us want to "find happiness" and believe that we must "seek joy" in order to do that. The thing is, we cannot find happiness like it's a lost twenty dollar bill on the street that we were lucky enough to find before the next passerby picks it up. We must CREATE it, and contrary to what many believe, seeking joy does not sustain long term happiness! Let me clarify here, I'm not suggesting there is anything wrong with joy, joy is great, we all need joy in our lives. The distinction I am referring to is that joy is a temporary emotion that passes by just like the other emotions we experience in any given day (or fleeting moment), but happiness is a state of mind.

Does your favorite snack bring you happiness, even though it will be gone in 15 minutes? No, but it sure does bring you joy for those 15 minutes, doesn't it?

Does your new toy (or purse for the ladies reading this) bring you happiness even though it will eventually wear out and end up in the trash some day? Just like your favorite snack, it too will bring you joy...for as long as you like it.

Does the newest Star Wars movie bring you happiness even though it will end in a few hours? It may teach you something about happiness, but the short-term effect is pure joy, for two hours.

I could go on, and I am sure that you can list a billion things that bring you joy. What all these things have in common is that they bring you temporary joy. And like I said earlier, joy is great, we should be seeking joy, but we should not be confusing this with happiness. Joy is not a replacement for happiness. Happiness, as a permanent state of mind comes from doing the work, from developing our-inner-selves and doing it for ourselves, not to please someone else. It is not a passing emotion, it's a state of mind that you cultivate according to your own deeply rooted belief system. One question you can ask yourself to separate short term joy from long term happiness is this; if you were to take away the thing you are questioning, are you still the same person without it? Joy is a form of pleasure, often a sensorial experience, not a deeply mental experience and it is gone once the experience is gone.

True happiness is cultivated daily and the truth is we are already doing things every day to develop and model happiness. But can we do more?

Long term happiness is finding your confidence even when it's hard to believe in yourself, or better yet, believing in yourself especially when no one else does!

Long term happiness is choosing to defend a cause that is close to your heart despite having to go against the grain.

Long term happiness is getting back up on that bike even though you fell off of it three times already and believing you can do it, because you can!

Long term happiness is paying it forward and doing something kind without the need for recognition or praise.

Long term happiness is taking the time to understand a bully rather than learning to hit him harder.

Long term happiness is forgiving the one who hurt you.

Long term happiness is serving others.

Long term happiness is praying or meditating to deepen your consciousness.

Long term happiness is recognizing the good in everyone.

Long term happiness is making the right decision even when the wrong decision is easier (and more joyful).

When we live a life cultivating our inner happiness, we are more capable of navigating the intricacies of this unpredictable world without falling hard and floundering in a perpetual haze of hurts. We fall down, get back up, dust ourselves off, find the lesson in our fall and move on wiser and happier. Happiness is the foundation of our lives and we must always believe we ARE happy, not that we must find it. Happiness must not be seen as a future goal. As long as we are consciously and mindfully living our truth day in and day out, and modeling it for our children, we don't need to look for it.

And how do we teach our children to be happy? We simply model it. They can learn to open doors for others even when they are in a hurry, they can learn to forgive easily, they can learn compassion and unconditional love, they can learn to serve others, they can learn to try again even when there is fear, they can learn to compassionately stand up for themselves, but we must model these behaviors for our youth in order for them to become ingrained in who they are.

If you desire to attain happiness and if you wish to live in a world of harmony and peace, you must understand that the journey begins with you. It is only then that you can reach out and touch the lives of others and change the world. -Dalai Lama

So rather than "finding happiness" today, repeat this affirmation to yourself every day - I AM HAPPY - and believe it!
Instead, it has to do with the way in which we choose to react to distinct groups of people. You can put any label on it. Sure, black lives DO matter, and so do autistic lives and Muslim lives and police lives and well, I could go on, but you get my point.

My husband and I took our boys to the Tenement Museum in NYC this weekend and the curator of the "Irish Outsiders" tour said something that dug into this deeply rooted feeling I have about all prejudice. After educating us on how in early America the Irish were persecuted against and treated like trash, even depicted in newspapers as apes with low intelligence, she said that the trend of prejudice still exists today and over time, all you needed to do was replace one race or group with yet another. It got me thinking about all groups which are judged, it includes anyone who does something different, believes something different, looks different or behaves differently from the accepted societal "norm" and that is subject to personal interpretation. What creates this divide is misunderstanding, a clear lack of good old human compassion. It's easy to brush off that which we do not know or personally understand, but if you think about your own life, isn't it possible that there are groups that don't understand something about you too? It may not be the color of your skin, but what about your political perspective, your religion, it might even just be how you choose to eat or dress or even the car you drive. Do you ever feel different from another group and thereby judged unfairly? More importantly, what IS the remedy?

The black lives matter movement was created with good intent. But all the violence and anger that has been drudged up isn't all that good, is it? It creates a greater divide. This anger has merit and it proves that there is still deep pain and healing that must occur for those who express such resentment outwardly. This isn't just a black lives matter issue though. For example, I know many many angry autism moms. We have been dubbed "warrior mothers" because we are fighting a battle, we are on the front lines of a war, so to speak. I get it, there is a lot to be angry about. We can focus on what sent our kids down the autism path, we can focus on the government corruption, we can focus on the unfairness of our children's lives....the pain, the hurt, the anger. Here's the thing though, if we put out anger, what we are going to get in return is more anger. It's a law of nature, you get what you give! Let me spin it this way, couldn't we also focus on how these experiences have changed us for the better too? I for one, am grateful for how much I learned about our health and environment and I feel blessed to have the strength and desire to help others who are seeking help. There is much to learn from every group, all we have to do is be open to it and to change our own perspectives! How can anyone expect change, if we aren't willing to be the change we want to see (thank you Gandhi)?

Think about the power a group can exhibit if they pull together to spread the best of themselves and their cultures rather than showing their weaknesses? What if "black lives" put focus on traditions and qualities of their ancestry that can improve the world? According to the Black Men's XChange there is an African tradition of accountability that would benefit every. single. person.

"In this African tribe, when someone does something harmful, they take
the person to the center of the village where the whole tribe comes and
surrounds them.

For two days, they will say to the man all the good things that he has done.

The tribe believes that each human being comes into the world as a
good. Each one of us only desiring safety, love, peace and happiness.

But sometimes, in the pursuit of these things, people make mistakes.

The community sees those mistakes as a cry for help.

They unite then to lift him, to reconnect him with his true nature,
to remind him who he really is, until he fully remembers the truth of
which he had been temporarily disconnected: 'I am good'."

Think of the ripple effect something like this would have! Sharing cultural traditions like this could change the world! Our perspective can be influenced.

"When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change." Wayne Dyer

And likewise, the autism community has so much to offer the world. I spend much of my time educating others about the things I've learned from autism and PANDAS. I prefer to see the beauty in what we have learned, but I can't control how it's received by those who cross my path.

My own personal experience of trying to raise my children with this compassion requires rewiring my own thought patterns. We don't even realize how much we've been indoctrinated by society and it requires really taking a good look at our own behaviors first. When we experienced bullying with one of our boys, I could have seen my child as a victim and encouraged entitlement by demanding respect from the other child. Instead, I asked my child to use compassion in his approach, I asked my child to begin the flow of change. First, we focused on examples of how the other child might have been driven to treat him and then we had to take the reigns and do something to encourage growth in the relationship rather than more anger and pain. You know what, it worked! Instantly. It reinforced this form of problem solving for my child. I can't tell you how many times I have heard people talk about teaching their kids to fight so they can overpower the bully (I don't even like using the word bully, which carries a negative connotation regarding a child who is acting out of pain and/or fear). All this does is perpetuate the problems while reducing our sensitivity to human connection! Of course, I do think children should be empowered to defend themselves in case they ever find themselves in a dangerous interaction with someone, especially someone larger than them, BUT I don't think we should encourage fighting as a response to the obvious expression of pain from someone else. Ironically, in our case, even before I had heard of the above African tribe and their beautiful display of building up a person in pain, I taught my child to compliment people, to listen to others and to spend time making them feel worthy and cared for...especially if they are behaving like a bully! Buddha once said that it's those who are angry that need the most love. Thich Nhat Hanh eloquently explains it like this. “When you express your anger you think that you are getting anger out of
your system, but that's not true,” he said. “When you express your
anger, either verbally or with physical violence, you are feeding the
seed of anger, and it becomes stronger in you."

Only understanding and compassion can neutralize anger.

An experience from my childhood shapes this frame of reference for me. When I was a teen with my own first car, I noticed that my mother wasn't locking her car doors. I immediately brought her attention to it, asking why she wouldn't want to protect herself from theft. Her answer was two-fold. First, why create an obstacle for the thief to create more damage (ie - having to break the window to achieve success) and more importantly, she said, "besides, if they want or need something from my car and they need it so badly that they are forced to steal it, they can have it." At the time, I didn't even realize how Buddhist this is.

Here are a few examples of short zen stories:

The Moon Cannot Be Stolen
A Zen Master lived the simplest kind of life in a little hut at
the foot of a mountain. One evening, while he was away, a thief sneaked into the hut only to
find there was nothing in it to steal. The Zen Master returned and found him. "You have come a long way to visit
me," he told the prowler, "and you should not return empty handed.
Please take my clothes as a gift."
The thief was bewildered, but he took the clothes and ran away.
The Master sat naked, watching the moon. "Poor fellow," he mused, " I wish
I could give him this beautiful moon."

and another

The Thief who Became a Disciple
One evening as Shichiri Kojun was reciting sutras a thief with a sharp sword entered, demanding either money or his life. Shichiri told him: "Do not disturb me. You can find the money in that drawer." Then he resumed his recitation. A little while afterwards he stopped and called: "Don't take it all. I need some to pay taxes with tomorrow." The intruder gathered up most of the money and started to leave. "Thank a
person when you receive a gift," Shichiri added. The man thanked him
and made off. A few days afterwards the fellow was caught and confessed, among others,
the offense against Shichiri. When Shichiri was called as a witness he
said: "This man is no thief, at least as far as I am concerned. I gave
him money and he thanked me for it." After he had finished his prison term, the man went to Shichiri and became his disciple.

These examples show us how kindness has more power than anger.

If media could get it right, they have the power to reshape how we see the world. They go after the hype and drama, because sadly, it gets more ratings! And ratings equates to dollar signs.

This bears repeating...

said it's genetic and my [insert relative] had it so that explains why I would too."

But what if this statement was completely false? Would that change how you view your health? Would you be empowered to take control of your health, if you knew you could change the outcome of your "genetics"?

Let's start with a little cutting edge science, simplified.

"It takes 10-15 years for science to take a fact from it's first inception to get it out into the public."

Textbooks are all at least 10-15 years old. Ponder that thought for a minute. The science being taught in school had the potential to be outdated by the time it reached the classroom.

The statement above was made by Dr. Bruce Lipton, Ph.D., a nationally known cellular biologist who writes and lectures about genetics and epigenetics. He discovered the power of our thoughts and how they influence cellular activity, the biology of perception. In his research, he discovered the true power of our minds, how our thoughts create our reality, right down to the cellular level. In his genetic research, he was lead to the reality "that it was the perception of the environment that controls the cell. At human levels, perceptions are beliefs and it turns out that it's actually our beliefs that select our genes and select our behavior."

Well that certainly changes things, doesn't it? Here is a little background on that.

The conventional belief, according to scientific journals, is that the nucleus of a cell is it's command center, in other words, it is considered to be the brain of the cell. The cell is an exact replica of the human and vice versa. Everything that is in a human is also found in a cell: a respiratory system, a digestive system, an endocrine system, a reproductive system, a nervous system, an immune system, etc. The brain of the human controls the human body, therefore the nucleus would appear to be the brain of the cell and it would seem likely that this nucleus would be the control center for the cell. What would be the consequence of taking the brain out of an organism? Clearly, death would result. But what happens if you remove the nucleus of a cell? Dr. Lipton did this and then studied the behavior of the cell without it's nucleus. If the nucleus is the brain of a cell, it should die when you remove it's nucleus, which is also it's genes. The result of Dr. Lipton's research is that the behavior of the cell was effected in no way by the removal of the nucleus! The cell will eventually die without the nucleus, but not for the reasons you would think. This means that the nucleus cannot be the control center of the cell, because the cell still has control without it's nucleus! The cells Dr. Lipton studied continued to behave the very same way they did before the nucleus was removed. They continued to move away from toxins and toward food, communicate with other cells, eat, grow, eliminate waste, build up their structure, etc. Genes do not control biology. This is an assumption that was made by scientists years ago and was never actually proven scientifically.

If it were true that our genes provide all of our characteristics for life, then it would also mean that our whole life is determined at conception, according the the conventional belief of genetic and cellular function. Yet, people acquire and heal from diseases every day. Something has changed within that organism to change the outcome, regardless of the genetics of the organism. If this outdated scientific theory were true, the human genome project should have resulted in the findings of a required 120,000 genes, yet it turns out that there are only less than 35,000 genes in the human body. Over 2/3 of the "required" genes are not present, why is that? Because our belief system was wrong! Genes do not control biology like we thought!

So what actually does control the cell? The brain of the cell is actually the membrane of the skin! I will try to keep this simple, but it's important to understanding the point I am trying to make. As Dr. Lipton explains, according to embryology there are three germ layers, each one connected to certain organs and tissues. The outer layer which is also known as the ectoderm, only gives rise to two organs in the body, the skin and the brain/nervous system. Your brain is derived from your skin. The skin of a cell is the interface between the environment and the cytoplasm. The skin reads what is going on and then tells the proteins in the cell what to do. The nucleus is not the brain of the cell, it's the gonad of the cell, it's reproduction! The nucleus, although important to life, has no intelligence. The cell membrane reads environmental signals and converts them into the signal that controls the proteins within the cell. Life is due to how the cell responds to the environment. Human life is how we respond to the environment. Behavior is not due to the genes, it is due to how we see the environmental "signal" and convert that signal into selecting the right protein for our response. Do you see where this is going? I don't want to get into the nitty-gritty of these scientific findings or it will become a long drawn out (and possibly boring) blog entry, so feel free to look into Dr. Lipton's magnificent work, it truly is incredible stuff and he is so fun to watch, not a boring moment in his lectures. He has a knack for making the task of learning about cellular biology fun and engaging.

So the gist of his research is that there is a molecular connection in how a belief actually switches on a gene. In the study of epigenetics, it has been determined that our environment can turn the expression of our genes on and off. This means that although we may have certain genes and/or gene mutations, they are not necessarily being expressed. In other words, having the dreaded breast cancer gene doesn't mean you will ultimately have breast cancer some time in your life, it just means that you are susceptible and your environment (physical and emotional) will ultimately determine if that gene gets expressed and turns on. How is it that stage 4 cancer patients can recover from their illness with alternative therapies? I think you are probably on the right track with me here.

You can change your beliefs. So what does this actually mean for our health?

"Knowledge is power. The more you are aware, the more capable you are at succeeding and lack of knowledge results in a lack of power." -Bruce Lipton, PhD.

I've taken this statement quite literally in my son's recovery from autism and PANDAS. I chose to educate myself extensively, which empowered me to feel like I could change the circumstances enough for him to heal. That is exactly what happened. I changed the circumstances enough for him to heal. He's recovered.

Old outdated belief:
We got our genes from our parents, therefore we have no power over the outcome of our life. This lack of power manifests itself in our lives and it is dis-empowering to us, because it says we are less powerful than our genes.

New belief:
Our environment and our belief system actually controls the outcome of our lives on every level, including cellular activity, which determines our health status.

Historically, doctors and scientists have poo-pooed the power of the
mind in studies where they see improvements with their placebo
patients. Why wouldn't we harness this power rather than discard the
information like garbage? Lissa Rankin, M.D. has researched this
powerful effect in the medical journals and she puts on a great Tedx
talk about it. You can find that link here.

When a doctor says your son's allergies are genetic, the old belief would tell you that there isn't much you can do about those allergies other than medicate and ease the symptoms, because well, they were bred into his genetics, right? Wrong. Yes, the susceptibility is there, genetically passed down, but the power to change the expression of those genes is in you and your child. And why did your child express those genes is the bigger question. If you have also carried down certain beliefs emotionally and you have eaten similar or the same foods, and your toxin exposures have been similar....these are all environmental triggers causing gene expression to switch on or off. Likewise, you can also do things that switch the gene expression back to a healthier state. It takes a conscious effort with intent, you must BELIEVE you can do this and remember, knowledge is power, the more you are aware, the more capable you are at succeeding.

Is it the chicken or the egg?
When we think about genetic diseases like cancer, diabetes, allergies, autism, and so forth, our belief system has the ability to automatically take our power away, but is it really "genetic" or is it that you "believe" you will fall prey to the same illnesses as your ancestors? That belief system feeds into your genetics, it turns on the very proteins inside your body that will ultimately express the illness you believe you are destined to acquire. And when you do acquire that disease, you believe you are destined to it, because your ancestors had it and it's "genetic". It can become a vicious cycle and often does. We have the power to change our thoughts and our environment, which changes our genetic expression and ultimately our health.

Our belief systems define us, they shape us, they label us and they determine where we are headed, but these belief systems aren't just the obvious conscious beliefs that we "know" about ourselves. Sure, there are the obvious beliefs we hold about ourselves and society like how we should look, what role religion plays in our lives, how our parents raised us and what we expect of ourselves from these beliefs. We hold beliefs on many levels in our body, mind and spirit. Some are subconscious, developed through experiences without conscious definition by our mind. They can be subtle, but powerful. This is where healing on a deeper level comes in. Practices like yoga, QiGong and meditation reach these subconscious levels and it is not uncommon to witness miraculous recoveries of illnesses like cancer when the person adds in practices like these to their physical healing regime. I wrote another blog entry about changing negative thought patterns with various self-help practices called Conscious Parenting.

Remember, we have the power to change, if we choose to, because after all, you are what you believe.
Even though I already knew the details of what was being divulged in this movie, I wanted to see how it was going to be portrayed. As we know, journalists have an uncanny knack for spinning a story to meet their own agendas, so I wanted to know, was this documentary going to provide the proper transparency this topic demands?

I've been asked by many what my review of the movie is. I really needed to process my own personal accumulation of emotions about it first, before I could even begin to think more about the big picture. Not that I didn't already know how the information in this movie impacts the nation, I have had those opinions for over a year (since Dr. William Thompson came forward publicly), but when you sit through the movie, it forces you to take inventory of your own baggage associated with it. I had to allow the dust to settle in my brain before I could contemplate a broader opinion of the movie itself and how I would like my perspective to impact others. I am, by no means, done processing the implication this movie has for the greater good, but I am ready to share my interpretation of it. And frankly, there is no better review for a movie like this, then your own, so please go see it, if it is an option.

I first want to shout out a big thanks (and hugs) to the producer Del Bigree, Andrew Wakefield and Polly Tommey for taking on this mammoth of a project! They have gone where no man has gone. They are taking on Big Pharma without an ounce of fear! Del Bigtree has repeatedly asked where the reporters are, why aren't they covering this story? The answer to that question just confirms what we already knew, that Big Pharma has a noose around the necks of many people in these positions.

As much news coverage as there has been regarding the Tribeca Film Festival pulling VAXXED from their line-up, still there seems to be a media blackout on what is actually IN the film. Journalists are labeling this film an anti-vaccine film without actually seeing it.

Even though I knew the basis of the story that would unfold on the big screen, it was harder than I anticipated to stomach the details as they were being shared by these fellow parents who know the horrible pain of vaccine damage. They poured their hearts out for us to learn from and I couldn't hold back the tears, my body heat rose and I shook in my seat as I recounted the emotions we had in common. All of us with vaccine damaged kids know that feeling of being invisible. We know, without a doubt, what happened to our kids. We know when our children sneeze, when they don't feel well, and we know when an incident causes them to suddenly regress. Yet we are invisible to the doctors, we are invisible even to some of our friends and family. We are left alone in the dark abyss of researching what happened to our children and how we can help them live the best lives they can, given such crappy circumstances. This is when we begin to shine though. Suddenly we separate ourselves from the crowd and we excel at something mothers have been known to do for decades, we develop solutions. Even if we are totally alone in this journey, we continue to dredge our paths and do you know what happens when these numbers climb? More and more parents connect, they share their (very similar) stories, they get louder and and louder and eventually they demand change. And change is exactly what we need right now.

If you are not already familiar with the premise of the movie, I would like to state, first and foremost, that this is not an anti-vaccine film. It is a documentary dedicated to information transparency and it is attempting to educate the masses about corruption in the CDC. Learning about the corruption provides you with an ability to empower yourself going forward. Remove thoughts like, "They wouldn't do that to us!!" or "Why wouldn't it be all over the news, if it were true?". Start with a blank slate and allow yourself the opportunity to view this movie from a neutral state. You will be making educated decisions about your child's healthcare. If parents decide to protect their child by not vaccinating him or her, it is still not an anti-vaccine movie.

So what IS this movie about?
Quite simply, VAXXED is "An investigation into how the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), the government agency charged with protecting the health of American citizens, destroyed data on their 2004 study that showed a link between the MMR vaccine and autism."

In my earlier blog from 2014 "Vaccine Safety Conundrum", I shared the CDC Whitle-blower timeline of events with multiple links to valid sources of information. One of these links was to Dr. William Thompson's Whistle-blower Attorney's website, where Dr. Thompson himself responded to the outcry of requests for more information with a press release. You can either click on the link above to see the letter on MorganVerkamp LLC's website directly or you can read it below:
Statement of William W. Thompson, Ph.D., Regarding the 2004 Article Examining the Possibility of a Relationship Between MMR Vaccine and Autism

August 27, 2014/in Press/
My name is William Thompson. I am a Senior Scientist with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, where I have worked since 1998.

I regret that my coauthors and I omitted statistically significant information in our 2004 article published in the journal Pediatrics. The omitted data suggested that African American males who received the MMR vaccine before age 36 months were at increased risk for autism. Decisions were made regarding which findings to report after the data were collected, and I believe that the final study protocol was not followed.

I want to be absolutely clear that I believe vaccines have saved and continue to save countless lives. I would never suggest that any parent avoid vaccinating children of any race. Vaccines prevent serious diseases, and the risks associated with their administration are vastly outweighed by their individual and societal benefits.

My concern has been the decision to omit relevant findings in a particular study for a particular sub group for a particular vaccine. There have always been recognized risks for vaccination and I believe it is the responsibility of the CDC to properly convey the risks associated with receipt of those vaccines.

I have had many discussions with Dr. Brian Hooker over the last 10 months regarding studies the CDC has carried out regarding vaccines and neurodevelopmental outcomes including autism spectrum disorders. I share his beliefthat CDC decision-making and analyses should be transparent. I was not, however, aware that he was recording any of our conversations, nor was I given any choice regarding whether my name would be made public or my voice would be put on the Internet.

I am grateful for the many supportive e-mails that I have received over the last several days.

I will not be answering further questions at this time. I am providing information to Congressman William Posey, and of course will continue to cooperate with Congress. I have also offered to assist with reanalysis of the study data or development of further studies. For the time being, however, I am focused on my job and my family.

Reasonable scientists can and do differ in their interpretation of information. I will do everything I can to assist any unbiased and objective scientists inside or outside the CDC to analyze data collected by the CDC or other public organizations for the purpose of understanding whether vaccines are associated with an increased risk of autism. There are still more questions than answers, and I appreciate that so many families are looking for answers from the scientific community.

My colleagues and supervisors at the CDC have been entirely professional since this matter became public. In fact, I received a performance-based award after this story came out. I have experienced no pressure or retaliation and certainly was not escorted from the building, as some have stated.

Dr. Thompson is represented by Frederick M. Morgan,Jr., Morgan Verkamp, LLC, Cincinnati, Ohio, www.morganverkamp.com.
_________________________________________________________________________
The movie VAXXED is in direct response to this event and I know that I personally am grateful for reporters like Del Bigtree who is willing to put his career on the line to review the evidence, interview Dr. Thompson and others so that parents are better informed.

Here are a few of the major points that can be taken away from the movie:

It is not an anti-vaccine movie
I know I said this earlier, but I want to say this again, because I think this movie is losing viewers based on the preconceived notion that it is encouraging families not to vaccinate their children. This movie is pro-transparency. This is a movie documenting a very specific case of corruption involving the very study that most doctors refer to when they tell their patients that "it has been proven that the MMR vaccine does NOT cause autism". The data that was manipulated paints a very different picture which does in fact connect autism and the MMR vaccine, particularly so when given between the ages of 12 and 18 months. The data also indicates that black boys are at a significantly higher risk than the general population for some reason. The data that was omitted results in an increased risk of autism at well over 250% higher when this vaccine is introduced between 12 and 18 months of age. Guess when my son received this and many other vaccines? Just before 12 months of age.

Dr. Andrew Wakefield's paper has been approved for reinstatement by a court of law
Let me repeat that again, so it sinks in....Dr. Wakefield's paper, which was originally withdrawn from the Lancet, has been approved for reinstatement by a court of law. It is NOT considered a fraudulent paper. I have heard SO many comments from people disputing Dr. Wakefield's validity, one of the most common being that his license was revoked and his paper pulled from the Lancet. What people aren't aware of is that he went to court and won! It was determined that his paper was to be reinstated, yet that has not yet happened, because again, the powers-that-be have a firm grip on this information. It is also a misconception that Dr. Wakefield's paper stated that there was a definitive connection between the MMR and autism. It did no such thing. The information he discovered in his research did, however, warrant the need for more research on this topic. His written suggestion was to merely separate the MMR into three individual vaccinations rather than giving them all together, which brings me to the next topic.

The MMR vaccination isn't available as three separated injections
Dr. Wakefield's research suggested that by separating the measles, mumps and rubella as individual vaccinations, the rate of autism didn't appear to increase like it does with the combination MMR. The reason you can't obtain these vaccinations individually is because the patent only covers the combined vaccination.

Doctors are being lied to also
In defense of all the doctors who are getting a bad rap for giving dangerous advice and for believing in the vaccinations they administer, let's remember they are being lied to just like us! When two prominent doctors are given the documents to review for themselves, without interference or outside interpretation, they are astounded and both plan to change the way they practice as a result. Dr. Sears was clearly shaken when he said that he has been advising patients based on a lie for the past ten years! The other doctor, Rachel Ross, an OB/gyn said that she would not be having her own child vaccinated with the MMR and when patients present her with the inevitable question, "Does the MMR cause autism?" she would be obligated to tell them the truth. Like us, doctors are trusting the data they have been fed by the CDC. Without reason to question otherwise, they will continue to trust the CDC. We must take the time to educate the doctors whenever possible.

The vaccine injury compensation fund is paid for with YOUR tax money
I don't know if you are already aware of this little detail, but vaccine manufacturers cannot be sued by parents of vaccine-injured children, instead they are protected from lawsuits by a court ruling in February of 2011 which put the final nail in the coffin when the Vaccine Injury Compensation Act of 1986 was updated to include "design defects". When families win a case of vaccine damage they are paid via the Vaccine Injury Compensation Fund, and it is YOUR tax money that is paying into this fund which has paid out over a billion dollars to date. So the vaccine manufacturers make $30+ billion annually per vaccine/drug, yet they have no consequences for producing dangerous vaccinations. Vaccinations are often "fast-tracked", meaning they don't go through the rigorous testing that drugs are required to go through, then YOU pay for THEIR consequences, not them. The most basic required study all manufactured drugs must go through is the double-blind placebo study where one group takes the drug and another does not. This study has not been conducted on any vaccine yet. Where is the incentive to make safe products??

A fraudulent study has been used to deny court cases
So now we have evidence that a fraudulent study was used to deny vaccine court cases. What are the odds they want this information made public? What are the implications of cases that were lost based on a study that was manipulated to omit data that might have actually have helped win the case?

The CDC actually had a meeting at which they all trashed the data connecting autism with the MMR. Without the material that was saved by Dr. William Thompson, there would be no existing data what-so-ever! In the movie, they share the documentation with hand-written notes by Colleen Boyle (Director of the CDC at the time, now a Merck employee!) showing exactly what data she instructed to be manipulated in the study and then ultimately confirming the trash can meeting!

Congressmen have stood before Congress, for all to see, requesting and even demanding an investigation of the CDC for it's fraudulent study. Senator Posey of Florida asked Congress to request a subpoena of Dr. Thompson (which Dr. Thompson wants to happen, since it would be illegal for him to speak out about the studies otherwise) and still a year later, nothing has happened!

So the question on everyone's tongue is, "Should I stop vaccinating my child?" I can't answer that question for you, but if you are familiar with my story and my blogs, you probably already know that we have one vaccinated child (who was vaccine damaged, resulting in autism and PANDAS) and a younger child who is unvaccinated as a result of our experience, and he is healthy. You MUST educate yourself BEFORE using any medication on your child. All medication comes with risks, vaccinations are a form of medication.

But I think there are more questions we need to be asking, such as What next? What do we do with this information? And how exactly did this happen in the first place, anyway? We must be the change we want to see in this world, and that change starts with the right questions.

Sadly, this is not an isolated incident. There are other vaccine safety whistle-blowers out there who have come forward, there is even a whistle-blower lawsuit currently going on involving two Merck scientists who claim that the MMR success rate is severely misrepresented, aka - falsified data, again. So how DID this dishonesty find it's way into our nation's fabric? My response to that is complacency. Yep, citizen complacency. We have developed a system of trust for authority-figures like doctors, scientists, politicians and even large-company owners. We have taken our safety for granted, ASSuming that these authority-figures always have our best interest in mind. This is called blind faith and blind faith has no place in our lives when it involves our children's health safety. As the parents, we are responsible for our children's health and it is up to us to maintain their safety. How can we effectively manage our children's health, if we aren't questioning the safety of what we put into them, from food to medications?

It's easy for us to sit on our comfy couches and pray for our war heroes fighting wars of freedom on International grounds, fighting for our freedom and safety which we are failing to use. But this, this is a war happening on our very own soil and unfortunately it is invisible to those who hold blind-faith in our government and medical establishments. By assuming we are safe, because we believe those in high powered positions are fighting the battle for us, we are losing ground, because sometimes it's these very people who are taking advantage of that power. How do they do that? WE LET THEM! When political positions were originally established, it was decided that they should not be entitled to holding these positions for life. Political representatives volunteered their time, outside of their day to day careers. This was a side job. "Career politicians" are dangerous to the future of our nation, because they can be easily bought. Their livelihood, their career and their bank account depends on their success. It is important to get involved, before we lose all freedom on the topic
of drugs and vaccination. The government is stepping over boundaries by taking
away our rights to vaccine exemptions and we are allowing it by doing nothing!! Vaccines
are drugs and no drugs come without consequences, which means we must
retain the right to choose them or not. When there is proof of children being harmed in great numbers, with thousands upon thousands of parents screaming that their child regressed after a vaccination, this is a conversation we must have no matter how uncomfortable.

Please contact your representatives and request a subpoena of Dr. William Thompson!!

The CDC openly admitted to changing their study, as well as admitting to an increase in autism in a certain age group of vaccinated children, yet they down play the results. For those who believe this whistle-blower story is a fake, see the CDC's website for their response to this event, confirming it is not a fake at all. Frankly, I would be concerned that they are capable of these manipulations and if they did it with this study, why wouldn't they do it with others? When someone lies to you, naturally your trust in them diminishes. Well, the CDC lied to you for over ten years and children have been sacrificed.
Our choices, our likes and dislikes, the way we parent and educate our children, how we relate in our relationships, and especially our medical choices, are all driven from a subconscious place of fear.

Even those who consider themselves "healthy" in a physical sense are conditioned to make decisions out of fear. Why do we do this? Our upbringing, the subtle expectations of society, instincts, and ultimately our own willingness to accept this powerfully moving emotion. If we do "this", then "that" will happen....Pavlov's Classical Conditioning at it's finest. It's innate. This form of learning has actually been so accurately labeled by Pavlov as "psychic conditioning". Perfect description!

Let's get technical: It takes the repeated pairing of an unconditioned stimulus, a neutral stimulus, and an unconditioned response, to create a new conditioned response. One exposure to a unique pairing of stimulus would only have this outcome, if the stimulus itself was very traumatizing, but the usual events are typically experienced slowly over time, with repeated exposures, creating deeply rooted subconscious responses. A traumatic, one-time event that might have this effect would be a child who is walking along the street happily eating an ice cream cone. A dog attacks the little girl, and the extremely traumatizing event paralyzes her mind and makes hard and fast connections between the fear she experiences and the ice cream cone, the dog and/or the peaceful walk alone. She might fear dogs forever on a conscious level, but the subconscious response might be a new allergy to dairy and/or sugar, perhaps even to being alone and walking. In fact, she could even develop an allergy to a flower nearby, if she was aware of it's odor at that very moment...it all depends on the connections her mind chooses to make in that split second and this will ultimately depend on the combination of her genetic breakdown and constitutional profile. Three different people who experience this exact same thing are likely to have completely different outcomes, regardless, the trauma suffered has created a new instinctual response in that child. This would be the less common scenario though.

So most of you know the famous Pavlov dog experiment where the pairing of meat powder and a bell encourages enzymatic salivation in the dog, then eventually the repeated exposure to this pairing creates a new response in the dog...enzymatic release and salivation just when the bell is rung. If we apply this form of conditioning to an everyday occurrence as simple as learning to walk, we see the undertow of fear in our choices, which then become a new, conditioned response. We take a step and fall which combines a few unconditioned stimulus and responses, the result is a healthy bout of fear (and probably adrenaline) which naturally drives our need to do what it takes to remain standing next time. At minimum, it invokes a change in what we plan to do next time, subconsciously. Fear is a natural instinct, it's protective and it motivates our trajectory in many situations. But when did it overtake our executive functioning to this point where we are surpassing good decisions and using fear to make poor decisions? How did we go from using instincts to protect us, to this place of chronic fear-riddled inappropriate "instincts"? As an innate instinct, this was something that was intended to protect or save us from danger (the green moldy berry tastes yucky, aka - it's toxic, don't eat it), yet now it is going too far and actually causing danger in certain situations.

Is there a natural law named after this phenomenon? Where else is it applied? Here is a thought process we see often, "If I don't vaccinate my child (all the while ignoring the obviously dangerous and harmful ingredients), s/he may contract the dreaded disease that the vaccine is intended to prevent and s/he will die". We are making connections based on a combination of false information and blind trust, creating fear-connections that drive our choices, which are then harming our children. The initial intention was good, but somewhere along the way, it all got twisted up and demented. Now we are accepting certain childhood illnesses as "normal", because they are overly common. Since when did common = normal? We've allowed conditioning to change our instinctual perception. This is an evolution process that is occurring without our conscious awareness. It is destructive to our population. This wasn't prominent in the very first generation of vaccinated people, or second, or even third, although the incidents of dis-ease were growing in number over the years and the ultimate result are the canaries in the coalmine...it is epigenetically shifting the population, and the result is that our children are dis-ease stricken earlier and earlier with illnesses that were once only targeting the elderly. In fact, autism has been closely compared to illnesses of the elderly like Alzheimers. Don't let the different labels fool you, all you have to do is look up the symptoms. Then, if you look up the symptoms of toxicity from heavy metals, the similarities run deep in all three. The common denominator? An overburden of toxins. How did we let this happen, if we are following our intuition? Well, we aren't following our intuition. You know that first pang of fear you feel when you place your innocent child on the doctor's table and hold him or her down so they can inject them with a slurry of dangerous ingredients (for the sake of the greater good), you instantly brush off that fear as sadness for the pin-prick pain your child will feel, because we are being consciously conditioned to believe that our fear is unwarranted, and that we must do this for our child's safety...Your fear is VERY warranted and should you actually respond appropriately to that fear, you might save your child, or your child's child from some form of learning disorder, allergies, eczema, cancer and/or spectrum disorder.

So clearly, vaccination is just one example of the larger picture, one that is very near and dear to my heart, but you can replace this with so many scenarios these days.

There are a few problems with this new conditioning which we are falling prey to.

The obvious evolutionary shift can be stopped, all it takes is awareness of the mistaken process combined with a willingness to make change in our daily routines. Blindly accepting anyone else's truth as your own has dire consequences, as you can see.

And what about the vibratory place fear ties us into? If you have been following my blog, I have spoken in other entries about the vibrational frequency of emotions. Fear is very low, and saturating yourself in low frequencies on a regular basis will impact your core vibration, shifting it from healthy, higher vibrations, to low and unhealthy vibrations. Our bodies are designed to handle the occasional imbalance, but when the lower vibrations become more prominent in our lives (from emotions, toxins, environmental onslaughts, poor quality foods, and so forth) our bodies begin to lose the battle. How long can you swim upstream without tiring and giving up? How long can you continue to fill the bucket before it overflows on you? The law of attraction will respond to this chronic frequency and you will find yourself attracting lower vibration events that result in disharmony in your life. Since our emotional and spiritual selves drive our physical selves, it is already evident where this evolution has taken us. When you have some time, check out the research on happier people resulting in healthier lives. Happy = very high vibration. Are we truly happy when we are stuffing our instincts and going against our "knowing" at a soul level? You can't trick your spirit into happiness, not for long anyway.

How do we then reverse this dangerous spiraling evolution? The challenge is in having to re-condition ourselves, having to unlearn what we have learned and doing so on a conscious level. We must go against the grain by challenging our interpretation of our inherent consciousness. This will bring us back to a true place of "knowing" from somewhere so much deeper. We must learn how to trust our instincts better, deciphering what is dangerous from what is not. Although we often interpret danger as merely physical, "...don't touch that stove, it's hot!", it is much much more. It goes deep and there is a place in each of us where we DO know the answers to what is dangerous. How do we tap into this tightly concealed space? We must first start listening to our soul at an individual level, and stop comparing ourselves to others around us. We are not our neighbor, our kid's friend's parents, our sisters and cousins. You are only you, with your own quirks, needs and desires, which can easily be misrepresented by comparing to all of the above. It may sound like voodoo to suggest listening to your soul, but simply trusting your gut is listening to your all-knowing soul. Don't stuff your intuition by suggesting someone else's paper degree is smarter than your soul or that it knows you better than you do. Only you know what works for you. When you follow the guidance of your gut, you cannot fail. But first you must learn to decipher what is truly yours and what is conditioned. You can achieve this by pausing in that space between the event and your reaction. Use that time to feel rather than think. Take more time, if you need it. Regular meditation is an incredible way to make use of the "pause". Meditation connects you to your soul unlike anything else you can do, but again, listen to yourself, because "meditation" is merely a word that represents "a discourse intended to express its author's reflections or to guide others in contemplation", and if for you, that means taking a walk in the forest for clarity, then do that. Someone else might find clarity in the pause of life when they sit in a long salt bath, another might sense their peace when they do yoga, dance, swim, ride a bike or write in a journal while sipping an herbal tea. We are all unique in what we need, as well as how we find our answers. There is a collective consciousness in this evolution. The power of
thought by the masses contributes to collective consciousness and will
fundamentally effect the outcome, globally. Look inside, listen to you, and let's rock this evolution!!
Our children come into this world with many lessons for us. When we are open and willing to receive what they have to offer us, we are reminded of our own soul purpose.

Inspired by the Thomas Jefferson Education model we use for home schooling, I wrote a mission for our family to live by. It keeps us aligned in our purpose as a family unit. The main theme evolves around thoughtfulness and compassion for ourselves and the world around us, and how interesting when you consider what traits are necessary for understanding and caring for a child with autism. Compassion and thoughtfulness! When our children go off into the world they must learn to grapple with the realities of perspective. Whether it be in school, extra curricular activities or even just play dates, they are faced with situations that test their compassion, as well as the compassion of others. How ironic that this is exactly what the rest of the world needs to practice when they are exposed to those who are on the spectrum. Sounds like a life lesson, doesn't it? I see a world lesson on the horizon. 1:68 and rising!

Let's look at misbehavior, keeping in mind that "misbehavior" is a matter of perspective. The first thing most parents will tell you about misbehavior is to rule out things like hunger, tired and discomfort before attempting to teach a lesson to the child. This is because behavior rooted in pain demands compassion. Why stop there though? Pain isn't purely physical, children feel emotional and mental pain like the rest of us. They just don't express it well yet. Instead of the clarity of well expressed words, they act out. So when we rule out the physical pain sources, we should also consider why the misbehavior remains, which should tell us that some form of pain still exists. Dig deeper, are the child's feelings hurt, have they picked up on someone's mood or energy around them, are they sensing danger? Regardless of right or wrong, they are entitled to their feelings which are based on their own very real perception of the situation.

When we can understand that all misbehavior is an expression of pain, we can send loving energy to the person rather than reflecting their negative behavior. This, in itself, would halt the vicious cycle that often revolves around anger, even on larger scales.

I teach this to my children when they encounter a child who they perceive as being "mean" to them. Perception is 99.9% of your reality. Did you realize you can control your perception, thereby controlling your reality? I want my children to always believe in their own good intent, as well as that of others. A misunderstanding between children isn't always cut and dry, we shouldn't take the experience for face value and assume that we know what is happening. Instead, we should remind ourselves that in every misunderstanding, each person has the potential to be a victim of a misguided perspective. We learn how to perceive the world around us very early in our lives. Many of these connections are made and stored in our subconscious before the age of 7! Then we begin to apply learned behaviors to these subconscious interpretations, which can be molded to change based on our experiences as we grow and develop. A person who chooses meditation or prayer, in the face of a challenge, is choosing to change their subconscious in a way that will open the pages of the world before them. On the contrary, a person who chooses self-deprivation or blame in the face of that same challenge has closed the book, and in turn, sealed their fate with feelings like anger and resentment. The emotions have the potential to cause dis-ease short and long term.

There is no reason to assume that only children react to emotions with misbehavior, adults are just as capable of missing the bigger picture. In fact, when you consider "misbehavior" like addiction and abuse, aren't they just an extension of this very situation? If they felt understood, if they are treated with compassion, and were from the very start, isn't it possible that these manifestations of anger and resentment might have never taken hold? Envision an abused dog. A dog who is cornered and treated poorly will lash out with anger and vehemence, and by default this once innocent puppy will resort to a habit of violence, in retaliation. This same dog can then be loved and treated with compassion, turning around the behavior once they develop trust again.

This is precisely why I give my children a voice. I don't always know what is best for them, in fact, it's likely that they comprehend a heck of a lot more than we give them credit for, they just haven't learned to manage those feelings with controlled expression yet. If we don't allow them to express themselves, we are suppressing their inner guidance. Suppression = pain and dis-ease. When we allow our children to make mistakes and explore their voices, we give them the power of confidence in their decision making. When we encourage them to say what they feel, they learn the value of acknowledging their emotions. It won't be perfectly packaged, but we are there to help guide them through using their words effectively.

I truly believe that each family member holds a special role in their family unit. Life wouldn't be the same without their intricately placed existence. We must be open to what their individuality has to offer, if we want them to embrace everything they are capable of.

We have been told by multiple healers that our 6 year old son is an empathic intuitive, even Shaman-like. We have experienced telepathy with him, as well as an incredible all-knowing ability he only exhibits when the need arises. My husband experienced one of his most impressive lessons when our son channeled his great grandfather (my husband's grandfather) who passed many years before our son's birth. The experience left little to the imagination, because our son actually used names he didn't know, he was very matter of fact about his experience and who he was communicating with. It was later confirmed that the timing of this experience was amazingly coordinated with the passing of my husband's Uncle who left his physical body with a smile on his face! When speaking with everyone involved, there is no denying that my husband's grandfather came through our son to reassure the family that he was there to help his son transition into his journey beyond life on this earth. My husband immediately developed a new appreciation for life beyond this dimension.

Among the lessons my children have taught me, I have learned about
the value of maintaining a healthy mind, body and spirit (and exactly how to go
about doing that, they were my motivation), I have learned to stand tall and have a voice for the greater good, I have learned that my own physical, emotional and spiritual health plays a role in our family well-being, I have learned how to communicate more effectively
and love more deeply, and I have become a better person entirely because of
the mere existence of my little guys. I am still learning and my greatest teachers are my children. Never under estimate the power of your lessons disguised by your children.Jessicahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01900390957087776716noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5440954236198192209.post-32895554608922675712014-09-19T17:39:00.003-07:002014-09-20T17:30:29.666-07:00Requesting your help to pay it forwardA fellow blogger and devoted Autism-mom is in dire need, as she fights a second bout of cancer. The CDC (and other government officials) regularly goes on record as saying "the science says that vaccines are safe". That is quite a confident, blanket statement to be made about dozens of vaccines that each have their own slew of possible side effects. The only problem with this is that science lies....well, the scientists do anyway.

If you've been following alternative news channels, you have probably heard about Whistleblower Dr. William Thompsom, a CDC Senior Scientist, who has come forward to regretfully admit his role in a cover up involving a CDC study aimed at autism and vaccine safety. Quite specifically, he was quoted as saying:

"Oh my God, I did not believe that we did what we did, but we did. It's all there ... This is the lowest point in my career, that I went along with that paper. I have great shame now when I meet families of kids with autism, because I have been part of the problem."

"I regret that my coauthors and I omitted statistically significant information in our 2004 article published in the journal Pediatrics. The omitted data suggested that African American males who received the MMR vaccine before age 36 months were at increased risk for autism. Decisions were made regarding which findings to report after the data were collected, and I believe that the final study protocol was not followed."

And there you have it folks, words right from the horse's mouth. Why there are still people defending this, is beyond me. He lied, he says he lied, the study was altered to suggest that the MMR is safe, yet the study itself clearly shows otherwise, and not just for African American boys either.
UPDATE - On January 26, 2016 journalist Ben Swann released this video, as he reported on the findings of the CDC Whistleblower's documents. The order of events that transpired: William Thompson spoke with Brian Hooker about covering up the data which links the MMR with autism in certain subsets of children, then he came forward through his Whistleblower Attorney, eventually he disclosed all of his documentation to Senator Posey in Florida and ultimately, Ben Swann retrieved those documents from Posey. They are now available for you to download directly, from this link.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Since there are so many great articles already detailing the events (although, the above admission of fraud is the only fact I need) I will share links to those articles at the bottom of my blog, rather than trying to rewrite what has already been said so eloquently by others.
I am not a political person, but the issue of vaccinating is a political topic. I am usually all about focusing on our choices, in other words, how do we move forward with the information we have. In the case of my son's autism, I focused on recovery, not how he got damaged. I just assumed that since we cannot change the wind, I would control the sails....however, it has come to light that in this case, the information we had was falsified, and it's time to change the wind.
When did the safety of vaccinations become political? Why isn't it simply about the facts anymore? Truth always prevails, doesn't it? Well, when it comes to vaccinations and pharmaceuticals, we are talking about huge financial gains for those involved. And these financial gains have become woven into the very fabric of our government. Who is going to bite the hand that feeds them without motivation bigger than his or her pocket?
Going back in time usually just brings up old wounds and doesn't
offer solutions, after all, we can't change the past, right?
How can we move forward with the right frame of mind AND bring awareness to the masses? We must educate and face the truth. No one should ever inject a baby without educating themselves about the ingredients and the potential risks associated with those ingredients. The trouble is, we think our doctors are educated enough to make these decisions for us, but what if your doctor is flat out lying to you or better yet, the CDC is? How do you feel about trusting your doctor now?
Let me break it down for you like this....would you mix any of these ingredients into your baby's bottle of milk or cereal and feed it to him? (this list is taken directly from the CDC website and is only a partial list)
MSG - aka monosodium glutamate
Formaldehyde
Aluminum hydroxide
Aluminum potassium sulfate
Aluminum hydroxphosphate sulfate
Iron ammonium citrate
Lactose
Thimerosal - aka mercury
glutaraldehyde
2-Phenoxyethanal
Ammonium sulfate
Polysorbate 80
Polymyxin B
Vero (monkey kidney cells)
modified latham medium (derived from bovine casein)
Dimethyl 1 beta-cycodextrin
neomycin sulfate
MRC-5 (human diploid cells)
CMRL 1969 medium (supplemented with calf serum)
Medium 199
Phenol detergent
Semi-synthetic medium (what does that even MEAN?)
Formalin
Dimethyl-betacyclodetxtrin
Yeast and yeast proteins
Soy peptone
Dextrose
Detergent
Phosphate buffers
Polysorbate 20
Insect cell, bacterial and viral protein
Egg protein (but be sure not to feed your infant eggs until he is a year for fear of causing an allergy)
Octylphenol ethoxylate (Triton X-100)
Recumbinant human albumin
WI-38 human diploid lung fibroblasts (ever wonder where they get these? It's in the MMR btw)
Chick embryo cell culture
calf serum protein
Streptomycin
You can view the complete list for yourself here, right on the CDC website. Also, if you want to be more educated on vaccine reactions, many are clearly stated right in the vaccine package inserts.
So let's be real here, if you found out any of the above ingredients were in your meal at the restaurant you visited yesterday, would you have a problem with it? Would you go back to that restaurant? Do they look safe to you? Would you eat them? If it's going into your body, you should be able to eat them.
Do you care why they justify these ingredients?? I sure don't. I don't want them injected into the veins of my baby the very day he is born, or ever. Many would likely label me "anti-vax". I am not anti-vax, I am anti-THESE-vaccines. My child was vaccinated and he was harmed by them, so as the conscientious parent that I am, I now avoid what harmed him, I call that smart.
If your excuse is that you don't know what many of these ingredients are, well as a parent, it's our job to learn what they are before allowing them into our children. Would you hand your one-day old to a stranger and allow them to fill a bottle with any combination of the above ingredients, then feed it to him while telling you "science has confirmed this is safe" when you know these ingredients clearly aren't safe for your child? Informed consent people, it means being informed BEFORE consenting.
What about those who say things like, "but if vaccines cause autism, why isn't every child who is vaccinated autistic?" Ummm, really? Does every child who encounters someone with a cold, go on to acquire that cold? If colds are contagious, why doesn't every child in the same class as the child with the cold get it? Many reasons. And just because a child doesn't end up with an autism spectrum disorder (symptoms vary quite a bit) doesn't mean they haven't developed an autoimmune response to their vaccinations. Many increasing illnesses are being looked at as potential reactions to the increasing vaccine schedule. Can you explain why the increase in illnesses like ADHD, asthma, childhood diabetes, allergies, arthritis, cancer, etc. is occurring here, as well as in developing countries with high rates of vaccination? India for example. Here is a brief article about the increase in asthma and allergies in developing countries. Let's now look at their vaccine schedule....they are up to 20 vaccinations by the age of two and the WHO organization is trying to push more on them. When they resist an added vaccination, the WHO just attempts to include it into a single multi-vaccine, as is discussed here with the recommended introduction of the Hib. This is a recipe for disaster. India's people are pushing back, thankfully!
So now let's review, the CDC completes a study ten years ago (when autism rates were 1 in 150, they are now 1 in 68) and they tell us vaccines do not cause autism. We blindly believe them, we vaccinate our innocent children with many of those horrid ingredients (and more), then your beloved child begins to regress right before your eyes, do you still think they are safe? Does it require a scientist to put two and two together? Another brilliant CDC scientist, DeStefano, has gone on record as saying parents aren't smart enough to make these decisions themselves. Ok, so if you don't want to make the decision yourself, find neutral sources with facts to share. There are plenty of doctors, biochemists and scientists out there with an unbiased, clear and concise perspective for you to learn from. I wish someone told me about these resources before I had my first baby, who was assaulted from the day he was born.
I haven't even gotten into the fact that deaths from diseases were
already on the decline long before vaccines were introduced, which
proves that vaccine manufacturers have only hitched a ride on the wave
that was already in motion. Scientists love to take credit for the
decline in diseases and deaths from diseases, yet it was actually safer
drinking water, refrigeration and antibiotics that resulted in the decline, not
vaccines. So again, if we listen to the "professionals", we are being
fed lies...and very dangerous ingredients.
If the risks of vaccinating are growing to outnumber the benefits, it's time to demand change. Change of this kind doesn't occur without loud insistent citizens. If we don't uphold our rights and insist on a third party investigation of the CDC and third party safety testing, we are by default, saying that it is ok for our government officials to hide things from us. What else are they hiding to preserve their financial status?
It's true, I've lost ground a little bit in light of this revelation. It has me reliving the darkest days of our past.
Coming from the depths of my most painful wounds, the lifetime-hurt my child has
had to endure has wiped out my entire belief system and replaced it
with an entirely new model. But I must focus on the fact that the those dark days have indeed made me a better person. I
won't lose sight of that, how can I, I live it daily. My innocent children depend on me. I owe them truth, safety and love. It's all I can
do to move on. There was a time when I thought I was alone in this
battle, but I have since painfully and personally learned of the
thousands of other families just like mine. We are the reason the
vaccine schedule needs re-evaluation and we are the reason the CDC is going to have a fight on their hands. We know what can happen to your family, even if you don't. So we fight not only for our truths, but for yours too!
The safety of vaccinations doesn't belong in the very hands that benefit from the results of their studies. Any chance you would bite the hand that feeds you?
My nine year old's interpretation of the CDC Whistleblower story is compelling.
"It's like a bunch of kids standing on the side of the road and being told it's safe to cross, but it's not, because a car is coming." Yes kiddo, yes it is. And many of us have been mowed down. It's time for us to stand tall and demand vaccine safety transparency. All we are asking for is the truth.
And for the CDC, I end here with lyrics from the song, Jar of Hearts.
Who do you think you are?
running 'round leaving scars
collecting your jar of hearts
tearing love apart
You're going to catch a cold
from the ice inside your soul
Who do you think you are?
UPDATE March 2016 - Del Bigtree, producer of "The Doctors" syndicated tv show, produces what he describes in an interview with ABC National News as the biggest medical story he has ever seen. It has been stated that this documentary is not anti-vaccine, but pro-transparency. "Vaxxed: From Cover-up to Catstrophe" highlights the CDC fraud mentioned above and more!
And below you will witness, first hand, just how coercion in this country
works! I am impressed that it even became a news story! The Film
Festival Director in Houston goes on camera as saying, "...they
threatened severe action against the festival if we showed it, so it is
out. Their actions would have cost us more than $100,000 in grants."
THIS my friendly folks, is exactly how it's done. Pharmaceutical
companies have deep pockets and they pay people off to shut up! They
clearly don't want you to know what is going on. Last I checked, this
was a free country...right? Nope. Pharmaceutical companies hold the
power, hundreds of thousands of dollars in power. Next time someone
asks me why we don't know more about the dangers of vaccinations or
suggests I am a conspiracy theorist, this is what I will share with
them. I apologize for the volume, it's a recording of a recording, of a recording, lol!
UPDATE #2 - On November 21, 2016, the journal Frontiers in Public Health accepted and published a study that has never before been done in the US, comparing the health of vaccinated and unvaccinated children between the ages of 6 and 12. Although the rates of chickenpox and pertussis were lower in the vaccinated population, these children were also "significantly more likely" to be diagnosed with chronic and life altering NDDs such as ADHD, learning disabilities, autism, etc.
Results: A total of 415 mothers provided data on 666 children, of which 261 (39%) were unvaccinated. Vaccinated children were significantly less likely than the unvaccinated to have been diagnosed with chickenpox and pertussis, but significantly more likely to have been diagnosed with pneumonia, otitis media, allergies and NDDs (defined as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and/or a learning disability). After adjustment, the factors that remained significantly associated with NDD were vaccination (OR 3.1, 95% CI: 1.4, 6.8), male gender (OR 2.3, 95% CI: 1.2, 4.3), and preterm birth (OR 5.0, 95% CI: 2.3, 11.6). In a final adjusted model, vaccination but not preterm birth remained associated with NDD, while the interaction of preterm birth and vaccination was associated with a 6.6-fold increased odds of NDD (95% CI: 2.8, 15.5).
Conclusions: In this study based on mothers’ reports, the vaccinated had a higher rate of allergies and NDD than the unvaccinated. Vaccination, but not preterm birth, remained significantly associated with NDD after controlling for other factors. However, preterm birth combined with vaccination was associated with an apparent synergistic increase in the odds of NDD. Further research involving larger, independent samples is needed to verify and understand these unexpected findings in order to optimize the impact of vaccines on children’s health.
I sure do!
Imagine a world where you can know, really know for sure, that your decision is not just a good one, but the best choice for your family in that given moment. Sounds like it would require a lot of education, doesn’t it? A PhD at least, right?
What if I told you that all it requires is a connection with your “higher self” (and I am not referring to legalizing marijuana)?
Your higher self is you, at a spiritual level, the all-knowing-you. We are all connected to the Universe at a soul level and when you tap into this source, you will access Universal wisdom.
This seemingly magical encounter I am referring to here can be achieved with something called dowsing.
What is dowsing?
If you have ever visited a practitioner who uses muscle testing or practices NAET, then you have already experienced dowsing, which is a form of connection with your higher self and/or the collective consciousness of the Universe. Could there be a better source of information than this?
Imagine the possibilities....your child gets sick and you want to know, if you should give this or that homeopathic remedy, how frequently should you give it and at what potency; or how about when you begin noticing a new undesirable behavior and would like to know the cause, as well as how to manage/heal it; or maybe you just want to know if a particular food is eliciting a negative reaction in yourself or a loved one. The possibilities are endless, quite literally!
The depth and breadth of your abilities are limited only by you. If you believe you can, well...you can!
We actually tap into this intuition daily and don't even realize it.
When you get that "gut feeling" about something, you
are using your Universal intuition. Trusting your gut feelings will keep those doors open and provide you with answers very much like dowsing will. Dowsing is just a tool for channeling this power. We can use this intuition for any aspect of our lives from deciding what movie to watch or what to eat, to healing ourselves of deep emotional blocks.
When I began dowsing, I was primarily focused on health dowsing, and our progress took on a whole new direction. We instantly left behind the superficial bandaid approach and began to see results that held weight. While many healing modalities are only intended to address the physical being, dowsing enables you to choose methods of healing that will effect every layer of your being and by doing so, you will see a compounded form of healing that goes deeper than anything else you have tried.
The forms of dowsing are almost as widely varied as the means with which you can use them. There are tools you can use for visual correspondence, such as the pendulum and dowsing rods, there are also numerous device-less dowsing methods which are perfect for moments when you wouldn’t want to whip out a pendulum (like in the middle of a busy grocery store).
The key to finding what works best for you is to experiment, practice and trust. I find for myself, writing down very detailed questions I plan to work with keeps me focused. If you find your mind straying while you dowse, you aren’t in the right state of mind and your results could be inaccurate. Try writing down your question, remain focused on it and most important, remain neutral to the answer!! It is easy to sway your answers, if you are heavily tied to the outcome, so remind yourself while you are dowsing that you are open to the truth. An easy way to keep your opinions out of it is to just keep thinking, “yes or no?” while you await the answer. And then...this is critical, trust your answers!! Without trust, why bother?
So I assume you are thinking, this is great and all, and yes I would LOVE to begin dowsing for myself and/or my family, but where do I begin??
I personally favor pendulum dowsing. When nothing else out there would work for me, the pendulum did. It’s a strong dependable method for my neurotic, proof-seeking mind. I know there are many of you out there who can relate! When various forms of muscle testing felt weak to me, I gave up out of lack of confidence in my results. It wasn’t until I pulled out a pendant and hung it on the bottom of a thin necklace chain, that I struck gold. I can’t promise you will find your perfect method right from the start, and maybe the pendulum isn’t for you, but don’t give up and when you think you might have found the method that works for you, practice, practice, practice.
Try dowsing things you know the answer to, like your name, what you should eat for breakfast, if a food is beneficial for you, but be careful of “testing” too much, instead, go at this with conviction, knowing you will get better with practice. If you are dowsing with the idea that you want to prove it wrong, you will. Your belief system will dictate your success.
I will share some great tips to get you started.
I really love Maggie and Nigel of Sixth Sense Consulting. They have been dowsing for many many years and they put together a ton of free information to help you not only begin, but succeed at dowsing regardless of the level you are at. They offer basic articles, videos, and frequently offer free events for all levels. I highly recommend their Facebook group if you are serious about learning dowsing. They personally answer questions and are dedicated to spreading awareness.
I participated in Maggie and Nigel’s Dowsing Fest, where I provided a “tip” which you can listen to below. Remember, you don’t have to be a seasoned dowser to get great results.
A list of device-less dowsing options from the Canadian Society of Dowsers
American Society of Dowsers
Now that you have opened up your world to include dowsing, it’s time to really think out of the box. You have a direct connection with the source of all that is. Take advantage of this opportunity and use it, frequently!! Like anything else, practice makes perfect and if you don’t use it, you lose it.
Jessicahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01900390957087776716noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5440954236198192209.post-70130547382967043962014-05-01T08:00:00.001-07:002014-05-21T09:14:36.292-07:00Silence!In this hectic day and age, the norm is for kids to be shuttled all over from this club to that practice, a class here and a class there, only to be ushered back home when it is time to do their homework and go to sleep. They barely have time to gulp down a meal and spend time with their family members between homework and extracurricular activities. As parents, we are lead to believe that a happy and well-rounded child is a busy child. Did you ever stop to wonder why?
We are over-scheduling our lives on a regular basis, with the assumption that more is better. Do you feel better after a hectic, rushed day? When we are hurried, our patience is reduced and our communication suffers which, means so do connections to the most important people in our lives. When we are over-scheduled, our relationships and creativity suffer.
If our children aren't at home with us, who is raising them? Food for thought.
A child who spends a significant amount of time at home with his or her parents and siblings is developing a keen sense of belonging, confidence and security, but this is only the tip of the iceberg. The more time a child spends with his or her family, the more the child is learning from his or her greatest teacher(s). Character development is above all, the most important experience of our lives. There are no lessons more important. With great character, comes great decisions. When this begins in early childhood and is encouraged to develop through adolescence, we are ensuring our children success in this high demand world. And what do we truly want for our children? Happiness. If they are confident and secure, isn't this where happiness starts?
Our foundational spirituality is cultivated at home. When parents tap into their intuition and they showcase the value of inner guidance along side their children, they are setting them up for success. Children learn from what they witness in their day to day lives. Who is their role model? Is it the child's parent(s) or is it Johnny on the baseball team and Timmy in karate and Joey in soccer? And who are their role models, do you even know? The sheer time a child spends with an individual is going to have a significant impact on their long-term values and morals. The imprint of their childhood remains with them forever. The valuable connections being made at this precious age are vital to his belief system, his instincts - his subconscious response to circumstances later in life.
What are we doing to show our children how to live respectable lives? Is it enough to share hasty dinners with them five days a week? What values do we represent when we suggest that our career is more important than our family life? Actions speak louder than words.
So why do we do it, why do we fall prey to this National norm? We are lead to believe that if we don't start our children in the best schools by getting on a waiting list before the age of three and if they don't know how to play every sport in grade school, that they will be failures. They won't compare to the Jones'.
Where should we find the answers to our big questions then?
In the silence.
The one thing a hectic life doesn't offer is silence. A time for reflection. A time for creativity. For children, creativity is born from boredom. A child can spend his youth jumping from one activity to another and may even be highly successful in one for many years, but without silence and reflection, he isn't going to find the space to sit with his thoughts and answer questions like, "What do I want to do with my life?" and "Where do I see my life going?". How will they gain the introspection to trust their inner voice?
What's in the silence you ask (besides long awaited peace and quiet)? If you haven't sat in the silence with your soul at the helm, you should start now! You are missing out on an indispensable adviser...your own higher self.
In the stillness of silence, we open our heart and mind to receiving. In the stillness, we find our
resolve. In the stillness, we are exposed to the truth. The downloads we receive in this stillness rival the fanciest computers any day. The information is telling, sometimes bright and cheery, sometimes dreary and challenging, regardless, the information we receive in the stillness guides us in the direction of our soul purpose on this planet. It enables growth and personal development. If we choose not to listen, we may silence the very voices we should be depending on for our life lessons.
In the end, it's all about balance. We can't all be home with our children EVERY day, but we can make every minute count. Instead of filling your child's empty hours with every sport and activity known to man kind, think about how quickly he or she will be grown up and on their own. These are precious years, make them the best they can be. Make memories, have fun, laugh, and enjoy the silence together!
Why must we experience pain? No pain, no gain, right?! Well, in some ways, this is actually true! How would we appreciate the absence of pain, if we haven’t been in the trenches with it at one point or another?
We don’t learn to walk successfully until we learn how not to fall.
The bigger picture is that there is a lesson engrained in every experience, ESPECIALLY pain; physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.
The first thing a parent wants to do for their child, when they are hurting, is take away their pain. They fall down, let’s clean up that boo-boo and put a bandaid on it. If they are going to get hurt climbing a tree, preventing them from climbing the tree will prevent their pain, so don’t let them do it, right? This couldn’t be further from the truth!! We can’t and shouldn’t protect our kids from all pain. We learn from it. We are causing more harm then good. We are taking away their ability to learn to gauge from experience.
What is pain anyway? It’s a red flag. It’s a signal from our body to do something different. And we must learn to read these signs....I hope your gauge is functioning properly?
Let’s go deeper. Instead of thinking about how we can remove or eliminate our pain, be it physical or emotional, what if we begin to think about why it is there in the first place? Here is a simplistic view. Why did I get this darn cold? The first thought in your mind is that you are an innocent victim of someone else who was sick, right? But did every single person who came into contact with that sick person express with a cold too? No, they didn’t, but why? The conditions that need to exist for an illness to take hold were not present in every single person who encountered the same sick individual. Now let’s expand our view and think about the bigger picture....did you NEED rest? Was your body setting you up for getting that rest? Did you have something emotional already going on, were you deprived of sleep, do you need a break from constant long hours at work? Are you drained from the housework that piles up faster than you can make a dent in it? Your body knows what it needs and if you deprive yourself of fulfilling it’s needs, by ignoring the simple signs, guess what? Yup, you are going to catch the proverbial cold. Your emotional body pushed the symptoms to the surface as a red flag. The most important question, did you listen? Or did you just top it off with an OTC medicine that eliminated symptoms so you could keep going....and going? It might be a cold this time, but if you don’t stop to listen to what your body is trying to tell you, you will be lucky if it’s a cold next time, or the time after that.
And even deeper...What about emotional lessons? What do they look like?
Do you feel like some emotional trends exist in your life? Something that repeats itself, over and over again? Do you notice there are a LOT of question marks in this blog? lol I am really asking you to think, because there is truly only one person who knows the answers to these questions, YOU! So back to the emotional trends. If you feel like your life is cluttered with repeat stories over the years, it might be time to pull out the mirror and take a good look and what your lesson is. I’m not suggesting you have done anything wrong or are even at fault, but I do think we need to pause and consider where we might have missed the memo along the way. Something needs to change and what better place to start with change, then with yourself? The rest will follow. The good news is that if you address the emotional lessons as they occur, you will actually be preventing future physical ailments! Physical expressions in health are the result of emotional trauma unaddressed.
I have learned some very big lessons in the past several months as I have slowly unfolded my awakening wings. It took a great big mirror and a lot of humble pie. It also forced me to step way out of my comfort zone. Could I have blamed someone else for all the things that “happened” to me? Sure I could have, but the truth is that I was the only person who could change my tune. I could go on feeling sorry for what “happened” to me or I could step up to the plate and take a swing. And that is exactly what I am doing!! I am swinging, and hitting home runs!
We attract “like” frequencies, whether it be reflected in the people we surround ourselves with or our health. We are big balls of vibrating matter, and that matter attracts what is similar to itself. So if you
are regularly thinking, “I can’t stop this awful habit of.....” (fill in
the blank, whatever it is) you are resonating at THAT frequency. If
it’s an emotion like guilt, well according to the professionals, you are
resonating at a very low vibration of about 30. And there is only one
emotion lower than guilt, shame is a mere 20 on this scale. Just to
give you a little comparison, joy is 540!! Think about the difference
you feel when you are about to do something that brings you joy...you
feel euphoric, don’t you? That is your vibration at that time too! I
bet you will enjoy every bit of those moments filled with joy. Just
take a moment to think about something that gives you immense joy, how
do you feel? You are now vibrating at 540. How did you get that joy,
did it jump into your cart at the grocery store? No, you CHOSE it! You
chose to feel joy about something you love to do. Love vibrates at
500. Another great emotion to align yourself with. Think about that
feeling you have for your children or if you don’t have children, when
you first fell in love with your partner. Great, isn’t it? It gives you those warm and fuzzies. And when
you generate these frequencies that are higher on the scale, you will
attract like-frequencies.
Sounds a lot like homeopathy, doesn’t it? This is exactly why homeopathy works!! If you can’t maintain a higher vibration regularly on your own, using the RIGHT remedies will encourage you to raise your vibrations which will ultimately allow you to begin attracting higher vibration experiences/health. Surround yourself with hope, love, joy, high vibration foods and activities and your life will change.
Ok, so how did we get so far away from pain? And how does pain have anything to do with high vibrations, if we are meant to learn from it? Maybe this is when we look in the mirror and wonder....what is my frequency? Turn that frown upside down!! = D
So what's the solution??
Parasites (and yeast, and bacteria and viruses) are a symptom of the problem, they aren't THE problem. What we have come to call "chronic" is merely just a battle we keep fighting and fighting, and...loosing. If we kill the microbe, why can't we gain that clean slate again? What are we missing? Not just from this lifetime either. The energetic imprint of many illnesses and thought patterns have been passed down to us from our parents, and their parents (and so forth) and we continue to pass them on, to our children. Everything we see currently manifesting in our physical body is at the end of it's rope. It is our body yelling at us, screaming at us, to change something and change it fast. When we see the physical manifestation resulting in any sort of "symptom", it's not the symptom that is the problem, it's the cause which is holding us back from healing. What doctors don't tell you (because they don't know mainly, because they are not trained holistically) is that it's the energetic imprints of days passed, haunting us today.
Why? Well, because nothing else is making sense, so it must be genetics! After all, they do sometimes appear to be a mirror image of our ailments....sometimes, errrrr maybe? Wrong again. Our genes may or may not be expressed. Just because you have a gene that is linked to a specific cancer, does not mean you will have or manifest that cancer in your physical body. Yes, genes do impart "susceptibility" to certain illnesses, but this is because our ancestors passed down their expressed genes to us. It doesn't mean we WILL express them. What is more important is to understand the triggers causing these genes to be expressed, or turned on. There is now an entire branch of research focused on epigenetics, which is exactly that, the study of how gene expression is triggered to turn those genes on and off. So is it enough to just know that you have a particular gene mutation? This, my friend, is just the tip of the iceberg.
What I am getting at here is that everything that surrounds your life has an effect on your cellular structure and ultimately, your genes! How you live your life, how your parents lived theirs and even how grandparents and great grandparents lived their lives, all ends up in the expression of your genes which then is passed on to your children. Any wonder why we have growing numbers of autism, PANDAS, cancer and autoimmune diseases?
We can easily make the
mistake of falling down a rabbit hole that starts with a diagnosis, then
we get on the path of thinking our kids (or ourselves) are
"sick"....and what does this do to us? We carry and emit "sick" energy,
then we put this energy on our kids and they believe it, they live it. We are energetic
beings with so much more to us than the physical symptoms we see. This is
the end of the rope....our physical body reacts to our emotional,
damaged the mental, emotional and spiritual states of our body. Repair and recovery must include them too.
Look beyond the physical, beyond the symptoms, beyond your interpretation of what is wrong to see what is right. This child is trying to tell you something. Your journey is about de-tangling that message. Could it be a painful one? Maybe. Could it be an eye-opening one? Maybe. Could it put you on a new path? Most definitely.
Regardless of your physical journey, your spiritual journey lies somewhere in the mass of symptoms you view every day. Where did they begin, why are they part of YOUR life?
Perspective.
n.noun
A view or vista.
A mental view or outlook.
The appearance of objects in depth as perceived by normal binocular vision.
The relationship of aspects of a subject to each other and to a whole. a perspective of history; a need to view the problem in the proper perspective.
Subjective evaluation of relative significance; a point of view. the perspective of the displaced homemaker.
The ability to perceive things in their actual interrelations or comparative importance. tried to keep my perspective throughout the crisis.
The technique of representing three-dimensional objects and depth relationships on a two-dimensional surface.
I feel particularly drawn to #4. The relationship of aspects of a subject to each other and to a whole.
Our children are part of a whole. They are part of a family, part of a community, part of a universe. Let’s keep that in mind when we are scaling the depths of the earth to “fix” them. They aren’t who they are without us. And what part of us are they? That is your journey to uncover. But don’t forget the depth and breadth of that possibility. Leave no stones unturned, open your heart, open your mind and most of all, open your spirit to ALL possibilities. When we narrow our searches, we limit ourselves. You may not find your car keys if you only look in the family room. Silly association, I know, but it’s just as silly to single out your child as “ill” without considering the source. When we single out one part of our family for “recovery” we are saying they are alone, they aren’t a part of us.
They ARE interconnected with us, ALL of us. We are just as much a part of their recovery, as the air we breath is a part of our survival.
Do you see your child “recovered”? Or do you see your child as “sick”? These are questions we MUST ask ourselves, because we attract what we give off. We must see our children the way we expect to see them, as healthy, whole and unique. Only then can our views begin to take in the big picture. Your child is in your life for a reason. Don’t underestimate the power of his/her purpose on this earth.
I have my children to thank for my gift of intuition. Their mere existence gave me reason to push myself harder than anything else has ever pushed me. Their passion for life drove me to look at my own passions. Their challenges became my challenges. And thankfully, their journeys intersect with mine.
Put the magnifying glass down and pick up the globe. Look around you and take it all in. I’m not here to tell you where to look or how to find your answers, but if you feel like something is missing in your own tale, it’s time to actively seek out that happy ending. It’s there for the taking, all you have to do is believe in fairy tales.
This is a mighty loaded question.
I can tell you this...if it weren't for our journey, I wouldn't have come to this place where I am right now. I believe I am where I am supposed to be. I also believe I came to this place based on my own personal path. Would I have made it to this point, if I chose another path? Well, I don't know, because I think I am always where I am supposed to be. Every step of the way, I learned something new. Without the first IgG food sensitivity panel, we wouldn't have known to cut problematic foods and to eat healthier. Without the use of natural anti-microbials, we wouldn't have learned the signs of microbial overgrowth. Without A/C chelation, we wouldn't have known the toxicity of heavy metals are such a problem in our world. Without the SBOs, we wouldn't have dropped all of the anti-microbials we were using daily. Without the experience of Homotoxicology, we wouldn't have eliminated dozens of supplements, and without homeopathy, we wouldn't have the permanent healing we are now experiencing. Most importantly, I wouldn't have crossed paths with some of the most important people in my life. I am not implying that you should do exactly what I did in order to find healing. This was our journey.
We all have a story of our own. We have lessons to learn and we are placed in situations that could take us down one road or another. Following our intuition brings us full circle, with purpose. Lessons can be painful and they can be challenging, but this is how we grow. No pain, no gain, right? Just kidding!
I am not suggesting that we are destined for something specific necessarily, instead, as we make our choices when sitting at that proverbial fork in the road, we are bringing all of who we are into that decision. And sometimes we will make what we will later perceive as the wrong one...but is it really? Have you learned from making "mistakes"? Well let's think about that. Even if just from a purely physical point of view, the first day you took a step as a toddler, it was preceded by many falls, and did you get on your bike and ride it effortlessly the first time? Maybe you did, maybe you are physically gifted...or maybe you didn't, but you did eventually learn to ride that bike, didn't you? We fall and we get up again, it's the nature of life. Remember dating? Who could forget! We are in a constant state of change.
What if we begin to see each "mistake" as the next step in our evolution rather than something that wasn't supposed to happen? Consider the conscious shift that will take place when we begin to welcome these lessons. To go from thinking "I was wrong and I failed" to thinking "it's time for a change"! Is your glass half empty or half full? The potential for growth is endless! What about our potential for happiness, where does that fit in here? When we feel confident and we trust the road ahead, we can truly enjoy happiness.
My journey is not the same as yours.
It may seem like common sense or it may even seem silly. Could we be at the same place, at the same time? Absolutely! Could you even be PART of my story, or vice versa? Heck yeah! I KNOW that there are certain people in my life with a very specific place in who I am meant to be. When these sort of lessons reveal themselves, there is nothing more rewarding than recognizing a friendship or a connection with a deeper purpose.
Life is definitely what we make of it, don't underestimate the power of your journey. So would I do it all over again? I would have to say yes, but that was my story. What is yours meant to be?
The question is, does what you are doing feel right? Perhaps my path is intersecting with yours for a reason.
When does it begin? When do we start developing our sub- and un-conscious mind? Many would guess this begins at birth, however, Dr. Bruce H. Lipton Ph.D a leading cellular biologist, would disagree and has gone on to prove that our cells hold memory. If our cells hold memory which is influenced by not only our thoughts and experiences but the thoughts and experiences of those around us, it would be safe to say that this begins at conception. After all, we are a ball of cells!
Think back to conception. Not yours, silly, your child's. Although, if you think about your own conception, much of who you are was developed then. Back to the conception of your child(ren). Where you excited or where you scared, did you receive any bad news during your pregnancy, was there financial stress, any stress? We all have some stress and having a baby brings about SO many anticipated changes, I would guess that many of us have stressed over bringing a new life into the world. I know I did!! I wish I knew then, what I know now. I would have started meditating much earlier.
From Dr. Lipton's book "The Biology of Belief"
To quote Dr. Thomas Verny, a pioneer in the field of prenatal and perinatal psychiatry: "Findings in the peer-reviewed literature over the course of decades establish, beyond any doubt, that parents have overwhelming influence on the mental and physical attributes of the children they raise." (Verny and Kelly 1981) And that influence starts, says Verny, not after children are born, but BEFORE children are born.
Another pioneer in pre- and perinatal psychology, David Chamberlain writes in his book The Mind of Your Newborn Baby: "The truth is, much of what we have traditionally believed about babies is false. They are not simple beings but complex and ageless-small creatures with unexpectedly large thoughts." (Chamberlain 1998) These complex, small creatures have a pre-birth life in the womb that profoundly influences their long-term health and behavior. "The quality of life in the womb, our temporary home before we were born, programs our susceptibility to coronary artery disease, stroke, diabetes, obesity and a multitude of other conditions in later life," writes Dr. Peter W. Nathanielsz in Life in the Womb: The Origin of Health and Disease. (Nathanielssz 1999)
The responsiveness of individuals to the environmental conditions perceived by their mothers before birth allows them to optimize their genetic and phsiologic development as they adapt to the environmental forecast. The same life-enhancing epigenetic plasticity of human development can go awry and lead to an array of chronic diseases in older age if an individual experences adverse nutritional and environmental circumstances during fetal and neonatal periods of development. (Bateson, et al, 2004)
The same epigenetic influences also continue after the child is born. In particular, fascinating new research is emphasizing the importance of good parenting in the development of the brain. "For the growing brain of a young child, the social world supplies the most important experiences influencing the expression of genes, which determines how neurons connect to one another in creating the neuronal pathways which give rise to mental activity," writes Dr. Daniel J. Siegel in The Developing Mind (Siegel 199) In other words, infants need a nurturing environment to activate the genes that develop healthy brains. Parents, the latest science reveals, continue to act as genetic engineers even after the birth of their children.
Well crap! I wish I read this before conception. So what now?
Dr. Lipton tells us of new scientific discoveries about the biochemical effects of the brain's functioning showing that all the cells of our body are affected by our thoughts. He shows us how genes and DNA do not control our biology, instead, DNA is controlled by signals from outside the cell, including energetic messages from our positive and negative thoughts.
I'm not one to dwell on the past, so it's great news to learn that we can still manage change. I am a glass half-full kind of gal. Moving on...
What steps can we take to change the course of old thought patterns?
The Healing Code - Dr. Lipton is a fan of The Healing Code and is quoted throughout Dr. Lloyd's book. You will learn how to apply the Universal Healing Code which is capable of re-programing damaging thought patterns. It only takes minutes each day and can have a profound impact on a multitude of ailments.
Meditation - There is nothing easier than changing a grumpy mood with a few minutes of meditation! Other than maybe winning the lottery. (wink) Just fifteen minutes a day can change your life. I find meditation to be the single most effective tool in our energy shifting toolbox at home.
Meditation taps into four different brainwaves: Beta, Alpha, Theta, and lastly Delta. These groups are each associated with specific states of your mind.
Beta Wave: Your current brain wave stage, where your conscious mind is awake and alert.
Alpha Wave: The beginning stages of meditation. Your brain is relaxed at this state, this is where all fears vanish and creativity flourishes.
Theta Wave: At this stage you are in a dream like state of mind where inspiration can occur. It’s also known to give you a sensation of “floating.”
Delta Wave: The Delta brain wave is the slowest activity of all waves. Achieved by the most experienced meditators. They experience a dreamless sleep.
A simple article in The Huffington Post says it well
Studies show that meditation is associated with improvement in a
variety of psychological areas, including stress, anxiety, addiction,
depression, eating disorders and cognitive function, among others.
There's also research to suggest that meditation can reduce blood
pressure, pain response, stress hormone levels and even cellular health.
But what does it actually do to the body?
For one thing, it changes our brain. The cells and neurons in the
brain are constantly making new connections and disrupting old ones
based on response to stimuli, a quality that researchers call
experience-based neuroplasticity. This affects the neural circuits of
the brain, which in turn affects how we respond to situations. It also
affects the actual structure of our brains -- thickening some areas and
making others less dense.
"Think of the end of a neuron as a hand, with thousands of
'fingers,'" said Dr. Sara Lazar, a neuroscientist at Massachusetts
General Hospital who studies mindfulness meditation. "The number of
fingers relates to the number of interconnections between neurons and
that number can change -- one reason it can change is due to stress."
If meditation is new to you, or it just doesn't come as second nature, there are many methods of practice you can try. There are guided meditation CDs which really help you tune out the chatter, there are classes where you can learn in person or you can just continue to practice adding a little time to each meditation session you experience. The internet can be your best friend on these topics!
To teach young children about mindful breathing techniques and meditation, I love the MindUP! curriculum which even teaches them where in the brain we are effecting by practicing mindful breathing.
Frequency/vibrational healing - It comes in all shapes and sizes from homeopathic medicine to psychic readings. There is likely to be at least one modality that will work for you. Each one of these methods can require it's own library, so to save on time I will just provide you with a list of the more common methods worth looking into. If you find that you resonate with any one of these, take that cue as a sign to educate yourself about it, or better yet, make an appointment with a practitioner!
Homeopathy
Reiki
Qigong
Chakra balancing
EFT
Body Talk
Quantum Touch
Polarity Therapy
Radionics
Biofeedback
Pranic Healing
Acupressure
Acupuncture
When all else fails, get moving - Yoga, Qigong, cardio, weights, a bike ride, swimming, whatever floats your boat, just get moving. It will give you a serotonin boost while taking your mind off of everything else.
Get inspired!! There is no time like the present to start a new pattern and since children learn best from modelling, what better way to teach your kids how to manage their emotions than to do it WITH them?! Change starts with YOU!Jessicahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01900390957087776716noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5440954236198192209.post-52614241175563576472013-09-25T17:08:00.002-07:002013-10-01T11:02:37.777-07:00The birth of this blog is actually the end of another. It's not sad, quite contrary actually. "You are what you eat!" has become, "You are what you...BELIEVE!" My, how my views have changed.
What better place to start, but at the end...huh? Yes, welcome to my world! I even read magazines backwards. =)
I am ready for a new chapter in our lives, are you ready to join us? The last blog I posted in "You are what you eat!" is going to be my first blog here.
Introducing Jessica...aka-me =), mom to two fabulous boys and wife to my best friend of 14 years, the rest you will have to learn by joining me on this journey.
Dated September 24, 2013, my graceful ending to "You are what you eat!"
I have a small confession to make, I have been contemplating starting
a new blog. One that reflects my new being. There is just no easy way
to say this, so I will just spit it out. I am no longer the mom you read
about in these entries behind me. I am still a fuss about food, that
will never change. I am evolving though. It's as if I entered my
chrysalis stage and am awaiting my wings. I feel renewed in such a way
that our future never looked brighter.
Autism? A distant memory.
Even PANDAS is only visible in my rear view mirror now. It isn't gone, but it isn't here either.
The
evolution I have been part of is almost mind-blowing. I wouldn't
believe any of it, even if I were reading it in a memoir only 6 months
ago. It would appear like a character in a fictional novel, someone
else's life, certainly not mine. How incredibly wild it was to wake up
one day and realize this IS me! This WAS me all along, how did I not
know sooner??
Well, you are probably thoroughly
intrigued by now, lol. I may lose readers here, but I hope to gain
others, in fact, what I hope most is to retain all of my current readers
and gain others, so we can all merge into this realm together. What I
am referring to is energy medicine.
This
means something different to each person who participates or practices
energy medicine. To me, it simply means being totally in tune with my
gut feelings. Even writing this is hard for me, because I have spent
years squashing the real me, without even realizing it. I may sound
"crazy". I know I am not though, because I am living the
ultimate....the results of accepting it. More importantly, so are my
kids!
Over the past year or two, as I have been helping parents trust their
gut instincts to guide them in healing their children, one thing became very clear....I
just know things. I have been asked so many times, "How did you know
to....?" I repeatedly heard myself saying, "I don't know, I just know".
I have finally learned about myself during an insightful transformation
is that I am in the early stages of uncovering my potential as a
clairsentient. Meaning, I have a gift of "knowing". I am not a fan of
labels, so I don't even like labeling myself with this somewhat
intriguing label, haha. It does, however, provide some form of
description though, and it provided me with a description of something I
realized I could relate to. I have always been an extreme empath, to
the point of embarrassment, because I can't always control it. It isn't
cool to cry in front of someone, because I have taken on their
emotions....even when they haven't shared them with me! This is one of
the reasons I had shut it off previously. But it didn't leave me
completely, in fact, it was the underlying force of all of my decisions
for my children. Clairsentience is one of the most overlooked psychic
abilities and requires one to clear their own energies in order to
become a clear channel.
There are two ways that clairsentience works.
Clairsentience works by allowing an intuitive to receive signals from
the spirit realm. A clairsentient will be able to sense the
messages, where as a clairvoyant will see the messages, and a
clairaudient will hear the messages. The clairsentient will feel
what a spirit is trying to say, and interpret the message by using
their intuition.
The second way that clairsentience works, is by allowing an intuitive
to understand the feelings of the people around them, (empathy).
Clairsentients often use their abilities to share and heal the pain of
others. By sensing what someone feels, a healing clairsentient will know
exactly what remedies someone needs
When an event out of my control spiraled me into a situation
requiring a lot of self-analysis, I saw this side of me that I never
acknowledged. I took some time to just be. Something I never did, I
was always researching, creating, fixing something or someone, and
planning the next step. For once, I just took time to BE!! I didn't
research, I didn't fix things, I wasn't onto the next best treatment or
practitioner. I just waited for communication from the universe. It
was in this calm that I found myself. Suddenly, I got ME. I mean, I
really got who I am, who I have been all along. Everything began to
make sense, including what was going on with my kids. And how
interesting to find out (after the fact) that my solar plexus chakra
which was blocked and needed some attention, as I began going through
this transformation, is the chakra that is most linked to
clairsentience.
I decided things were going to
change. And change, they have! I am now using my intuition to guide
our health decisions. Not that this is very different from my past,
although now I am doing it more consciously, with intent. We use only
homeopathy and soil based organisms. Remedies are chosen based on
intuition. I also clear our energy regularly. It's amazing what
dealing with the chakras, meridians and aura can do for detox!! I can't
believe we survived biomed without this knowledge! I see instant
changes in us, when we acquire non-beneicial frequencies and likewise,
when I remove them. We have been able to move through high potency
remedies with ease since participating in energy healing. Our past was
riddled with significant detox symptoms, something I thought just came
with the territory. How wrong I was!
What I find most
important about metaphysical powers is that we all have them. We are
born intimately connected to the universe. We can choose to shut them
off or we can choose to actively embrace them. None of what I have
experienced is extraordinary, the only difference between myself and
others is that I am now recognizing these events and learning to use
them to my advantage.
In retrospect, this isn't really a new me, but merely the next progression of me.
So
my whole point in this entry is that I would love to continue writing,
but this is a new realm for me and I am not sure exactly how much I plan
to share. Like anything else though, it will come to me, when the time
is right. I hope you will find yourself wanting to follow along as I
find my wings.
